    Superstionion tips for a noob?

Hmmm... Looks like my route going up that Railroad Road goes right through a bigpink patch labled Military on the Map. I guess I need to re-evaluate that... Carl

And no, all those spots are not marked. Download the map previously attached and look on BLM's site for the area specific maps. AAA has some good ones too. I'll see if I can drum up the names of (more of) the maps you might be needing I'm pretty good with my GPS. And have a bunch of maps. My basic plan is to go from: Go North from cafe to Powerline and run east on that. Make a trip of Painted Gorge And then go back to Powerline and Keep going East. Pick up Coyote Wash Eastbound to the railroad Head North on the Railroad road till I get to 341 Take 341 to Wheeler Take Wheeler Road to Superstition Mountain. Fumble around the Mountain for a while and then return the same way I went in. I'm assuming those will all be very easy as I just want to make a run through and see stuff on the day trip...

    Superstionion tips for a noob?

Johny, I think we are going to make a trial run out there tommorrow. I'm hoping that old highway cafe is a dirt bike friendly spot... and my wife will probably hang out there and we will have lunch there etc. Are the "NO GO" areas well marked? Carl
  4. I have a Spot Satellite GPS messenger (Spot 2) that I don't use anymore. (I replaced it with a Delorme InReach). I'm looking to give it (No Shipping, I'm lazy) to someone who will actually use it (as opposed to moving it from my shelf to yours ;-). It appears to be in perfect condition and worked fine for me. It's perfect as an emergency backup for those adventures that go out of cell phone range. Note that it requires a service plan of about $165 per year for emergency, tracking and GEOS rescue. I'm in North Park... come and get it... Carl

  8. I'm headed to Ocotillo Wells for a couple days. I'm on a Husky TE250 (plated) and I'm a 50 year old advanced novice in the dirt (lots of street experience, just new to the dirt). Anyone headed out there who wants to meet let me know. We'll be based at the "Borrego Springs Resort". If you just want to meet and compare notes my wife & I will probably be having dinner at Carlee's. ;-) Carl

Anza Borrego Weds Thurs & Fri

Cool Dave! even if we just meet for a coffee / drink or dinner, I'd love to compare notes. I'm plated, so recently I've been riding on the Anza Borrego side, but I also get out to the SVRA. Carl
