Very sorry for you mom's loss... Will keep an eye on the post for opportunities to assist.
  2. Whole new world now, Mord! Awesome for you! I'm thinking you'll never ride that Honda again! (Not that that's a bad thing.) Enjoy!

    local rain storms

Thanks Robertaccio... Always a good reminder to be aware, even on familiar trails. (Whether there's been a ton of rain or not.) That obviously could have been much worse. Very glad it was not! On another note.... Any chance the moister will last until Sunday??

  8. I ran across the gizmo below in a YouTube vid. It's used to accurately set the voltage on the throttle position sensor (TPS) on the throttle body of my KTM 350 XCF-W. Because I tore the whole thing down to give it a good cleaning, I want to be able to reset the TPS properly. The harness is available on the internet for $36, but I'd rather make it up myself, IF I can find the appropriate parts. I've somewhat scoured the net and have had no luck finding what I think I need. So I thought I'd check with the SDAR brothers and sisters to see if anyone is familiar with where to source the connectors to the TPS (as shown above). KTM offers spare connectors, but one (not a set) I found that "closely" resembles the connectors pictured is approx. $47. Doing a little math and comparing to the sales price of the harness on the internet, I'm thinking they can be found cheaper. Here is another shot of what they look like (male and female): I read Goofy Footer's post re: building a wiring harness and have an inquiry in to ProWireUSA, but did not see anything resembling these when looking through their website. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!
  9. Doesn't look like you can register for this one online. Sign-ups don't usually take too long at the race. The D38 Competition License Application is to join D38. It is not mandatory. You don't need to be a District 38 member, unless you want the points. It's also $10 less if you are a member ($40/$50). You MUST be an AMA member, which you can sign up for at the race, but online is easier (if you are not a member already). If you join D38, your class steward will set you up with a number for the season and your membership card to show at the race. If you don't join D38, they give you a "pie plate"... Literally a paper plate and a temporary number. You write the number on the plate and tape it to your bike. If you are not going to race after this event, probably makes most sense to just pay the $50 as a non-member. Otherwise you're looking at $70 total ($30 D38 membership + $40 race entry), and you'd have to pay the $30 again for the 2016 season once you get the bug... And you will get the bug! Reach Air coverage is also not a bad idea... Discounted at $55 for D38 members (not the $25 they show on the web page). I have the discount code at work... Let me know if you need it. Let us know if you have any other questions.
  10. Race Cost: $40 for D38 Member $50 for Non-member D38 Membership - $30 You must be an AMA member to race. Join the AMA here http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/membership More D38 info, class steward contact info, etc. here http://amad38.com/ Link to race flyer -- http://amad38.com/RaceFlyers/2015_Dezert_Sprint_Flyer.pdf Class stewards are generally very helpful in getting you all set up. Post any additional questions. There are a few (probably more) out here who can answer them. Or PM me.
  11. Good ride today... I think we did well for a group of 10! Everyone kept a pretty good pace. Only a few hang ups, really. Temps weren't too bad either. Thanks guys!

NEW 2015 KTM 500 EXC Build

Are you 185 geared up? I'm 190 dry... Probably 205 with all gear (incl. tools, water, etc.). I put a heavier shock spring (Race Tech progressive) on about a year after purchasing my 350 and started paying pretty close attention to sag. I'll say it made a noticeable difference with the heavier spring and keeping the sag in "spec." I used the manual specs as a guideline along with Race Tech's method for measuring sag (RT has you push down/release and pull up/release when measuring to factor in stiction). I think most will say clickers are a matter of personal preference / feel combined with the terrain your riding. I ride primarily Corral Canyon and McCain (plus and annual trip to Moab). I've had the 350 about 3 years now and have settled in comfortably around the "standard" settings in the manual. I am not well versed in suspension tuning, but found these settings work pretty well all around with a focus on "softening" the hits when bumping over rocks, etc. My next modification will be to stiffen the fork springs based on what I have read and the recommendation of others here. Good thing about springs... it's a mod that can be done for a reasonable amount of money down the road (but spending is all relative, right?!). Look forward to seeing the Schweddy 500 in action!

  16. Check a few posts back My bad... Forgot I'd seen them. Probably blocking that graceful dismount! Thanks for posting!
  17. That was a good day of riding for all involved... Thanks for posting the vids bikeslut! Dualler... Where are yours??
  18. Got an email from Slavens Racing saying they've got a new supply of Sedona MX907HP rear tires. I understand these are hard to find because they are reasonably priced and hold up well. However, I have never used them. I bought one to put on when my current tire wears out. We'll see how it works out. They also have a stock of Shinko 520 Series I/H Terrain Rear Tires. Thought I would pass it along if anyone has been looking for either... See link below. http://slavensracing.com/shop/mx907hp-rear-tires-by-sedona/
  19. Three of us are meeting at the Oak Tree Sunday 7/26. Shooting for KSU at 8am. Intermediate terrain and pace, but no one gets left behind. Probably ride +/- 2 hours until its too hot. Reply here or just show up and let us know you want to ride... I'm in a black F-250. KTM 350 XCF-W, KTM 525 and Husky FE 350 S. Chad, 1 Kstep, OBSteve (aka "OneBoot").
  20. My F-250 external temp gauge (not sure how accurate) read 70 when we arrived at approx. 7:45. About 81 when we left at 11:00. We had a narrow strip of cloud blocking the sun for the first 45 mins of the ride which was nice. Never really felt that hot. Plus there was a decent breeze which worked as a nice evap cooler when you worked a sweat up. No moisture left out there, unfortunately. We'll start a ride report, but it was a fun, but somewhat uneventful morning. Just the three of us... Good pace and we stayed on mostly the tighter single track. At the end of the day, we challenged ourselves a little with some rock negotiating fun!
  21. I had a great time today! Always great to put SDAR handles to faces and ride with new folks.... Bp619 did quite the cartwheel-esque dismount! Popped up like nothing happened... Pretty impressive! Good to ride with TexasDualler, Bp619 and Suspenders. Kenny, thanks for leading the "slow" group. Also enjoyed the after ride hang out at the oak tree with the rest of the group. See ya'all out there again soon!
  22. There a baby seat for the 350 EXC in the POWERPARTS catalog?
  23. I'll be out there with two others... See ya'all then!
