Also, I don't think the EASTERN concept plan is a done deal. The agency appears to be taking comments for future use: http://www.ovrp.org/uploads/calendar/OVRP%20Concept%20Plan%20Comment%20Card.pdf STATUS REPORT ON OVRP CONCEPT PLAN UPDATE PROCESS – Joint Staff Presentation to CAC We are currently updating the OVRP Concept Plan. The County of San Diego has allocated $40,000 for the update to this plan. The current plan is almost 20 years old and we would encourage comments from this Committee. We will be bringing this topic to the next CAC meeting on November 19, 2015 so please try to attend to provide comments. Some of the items that are being reviewed are photos and figures, evaluation of future recreation areas, staging areas, trail corridors and more. You can access the current plan on our County of San Diego Parks and recreation website at www.sdparks.org. We have not started the update yet, so there is not a new draft to compare or look at as of yet, we will start that process at the November meeting. This is the old concept plan from 1997 that they are updating: http://www.sandiegocounty.gov/content/dam/sdc/parks/OVRP/Documents/ovrpconceptplan.pdf -

The photo above appears to be an entrance to the north in the middle of residential area. The sleep train entrance gate is often open and no signs posted. However, this map seems to lay out trails on the North side of the river. http://www.ovrp.org/documents/Figure_16.pdf I have never had a problem going straight from Sleep Train thru to Otay Mtn. Also see this discussion: http://dualsport-sd.com/forums/index.php?/topic/19697-question-about-otay-entrance-around-aquatica/?hl=%2Btvscum+%2Bchula+%2Bvista+%2Bcounty#entry190103 -
Up and over Otay test ride
tvscum replied to tvscum's topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
Thanks Bagster but I am going with a D606 in a few weeks. -
After a new chain and sprocket, as well as sorting out some electrical issues, I decided to take a test run up and over Otay Mtn on xmas afternoon. Started out at sleep train and up a somewhat muddy "Hard Rock Rd" as it is now called on Google Maps (I swear it used to be named something else). Anyway, there's a new gate near Otay Mesa Jail. Alternate routes available, though. All mechanical issues are now sorted out and all in all I would give the bike a "10", and I did:

You cannot fall, right? Unless it has some sort of inflatable save system. EDIT Interview http://www.rollingstone.com/sports/features/robbie-maddison-on-cheating-death-to-make-his-pipe-dream-a-reality-20150803 But eventually, the bike would sink, right? Each time the bike went under, we had extensive mechanical work to rebirth it for another run. We knew we were bound to sink the bike a few times in Tahiti, so we switched from a 450cc four-stroke motor to a two-stroke motor for the advantage of having a less-complicated engine and less electronics and wiring to deal with.

KTM demo ride, then Hideout to Anza - June 27
tvscum posted a topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
I was thinking about arriving at 9am on Saturday, June 27 at Ramona High School to demo ride some KTM bikes at this event: http://www.allamericanktm.com/ Then, depending on how long the wait is, we can head up Pamo Rd. to Santa Ysabel TT to Mesa Grande to Hideout Saloon for lunch. Then, maybe up thru Warner Springs to Lost Creek Rd to Anza and any route home? Maybe even Idylliwld? Or maybe just past Warner Springs then up Palomar Divide and not to Idyllwild. Any interest? Suggestions? Joiners? Squids? I will be on a XR440... pretty easy route. -

Nice ride Bill! Got to demo a 690 Enduro R and had a hot time running up to Anza, with detours to the Buddhist meditation center on Chihuahua Valley Rd and the Cooper Ceinega swamp (yes swamp) and oak grove. Looks like all the junk and shooting debris has been cleaned up at Cooper Ceinega! Pretty sure that's BLM land. Too hot to stop for photos! https://www.google.com/maps/@33.4159858,-116.6815225,1160m/data=!3m1!1e3 BLM http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/palmsprings/beauty_mountain_irrigation.print.html http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/info/newsbytes/2010/414xtra_beautymtn_cleanup.html -

Just ran out of gas on Highway 67 at Shady Oaks just outside of Ramona. Might try to make it up to Arnie's house to see if he has any gas. -

Yeah, looks like 91 for a high on Saturday in Anza. Maybe we could just ride to the Hideout. I might also slab it to Julian later because my sister is catering a soft grand opening at Volcan Mountain Winery (formerly Jenkins Winery) off Wynola Rd. Open to suggestions. -
Looks like it's back up again, like Arnie said.

I thought the old tracks were still online, but it looks like the entire site is dead now. Hopefully just temporarily. http://dualsportmaps.com/ BTW, anybody headed to Idyllwild or Baja overnight Saturday?
