  2. The Ride was the San Louis Obispo Penguins dual sport on April 29th. I have watched this video over and over frame by frame and I still can't tell exactly what went wrong. All I know is that I suddenly had my weight thrown forward as the rear wheel lifted, I had a quick tank slapper and wham! I'm OK but it has been a surprisingly long recovery.
  3. Saturday April 6th. I will be riding from Ocotillo Wells to Superstition mountain. I plan to meet a few friends who are camping at Superstition. Ride the dunes and then head back. If anyone wants to join me I will be at Julian Coffee and Tea for breakfast at 8am. I will be on my KTM EXC450. Bill
  4. I will meet you at Julian Coffee and Tea at 8:00
  5. OK, The ride is on then. We can keep it a slow pace and spend some time at the OHV area. We can trailer out from Escondido if you want. Check your e-mail. Bill
  6. Anyone up for a ride tomorrow 4-10-11? Meet 9am at the campground at the intersection of Yaqui pass rd. (S-3) and hwy 78. Ride East. Find our way to Salton City for lunch and return. Moderate pace, Soft sand washes.

Grapevine canyon is on the north side of hwy 78. About 5 miles East of S-2. On the south side is Plum canyon. It is easy to spot because there is a turn out for traffic. Places to park and a board with hiking trail information. On the north side is a dirt road that accesses camp sites and parking. Yes you do need a plated bike. I have only been there once. I just want to learn my way around the area. Ride dirt roads for about 4 hours. Here are the GPS coordinates to park. Check it out on Google Earth. 33° 7'44.34" 116°25'35.68"W

  11. I will leave Pine Valley at 8:30 and look for you at Bobcat Meadow camp ground. If anyone wants to join me for the ride down the Kernan cycle trail call me at 760-877-8276. I will be coming from Escondido with a trailer that holds two if anyone wants to carpool. Bill
  12. Can anyone join me for a weekday ride Tuesday the 16th. Park at pine valley and ride to Corral Canyon. Bill 760-877-8276
  13. Ask Joe. He showed me trails that start in Pine Valley that lead up to the Sunrise Highway but I don't know about dropping over the ridge into the desert. Joe has the post of "slower riders wanted"
