I once upon a time knew what Shinko tire I wanted up front on my bike (500EXC) to match the cheater (505) on the back but I cannot for the life of me remember the number. Size (stock) is 90/90-21 Thanks guys!

Thanks guys (really did not mean to start another tire thread!)! I have been very happy with the Shinko 505 I put on the rear (only 2 rides on it-one in Corral Canyon in the mud and the other from Ocotillo to sand dam and back); vast improvement over the stock Continental that came with the bike. Hate the stock tire up front and do not feel comfortable with it (especially in the sand) and just want the same experience up front as I am getting from the rear. Are you running Shinko's front and rear, LB? Thanks again you guys for jump starting my old brain!

I noticed it last night for the first time as well-looks great!!!

Back in '82 I was looking for a bike and was pretty set on an XR. Three of us went to ECC (back when Jack owned it) and one of my buddies said "let's just get 500's". He was 40 pounds lighter than me and that "big" of bike scared me, but I bought it anyway. Wasn't long before I had pulled the reed valve (had 'em back then and they were junk; still junk on bikes today!), opened up the air box, re-jetted, etc. looking for more power. Get a bigger bike and be happy! You don't have to use the extra power but you'll be happy it is there when you need it!

Where are you located, Mike? The small jobs are tough since they really don't pay for the guy(s) and they can't charge enough to make it worth their while. Are you trying to match something (it will always look like a patch but it should be somewhat close to what is near it) or is it just a stand alone? Give me a call later today at 760.535.8411 (I will be out training some guys most of the day and won't be able to talk until later this afternoon) and I'll see if I can get one of my guys to help you.
