Old thread, but a bump for Cycle Parts west. Brought them two wheels and two new tires, they swapped them both for me for $24 total ($10/tire plus $4 recycle fee for the old ones). Highly recommended!

Anyone have a recommendation for someone who is good at detailing bikes in South county area? While I'm cool with the KLR being covered in mud, it'd be nice to get the MTS1000 shined up a bit, and I'm pretty lazy. Ideas?

Tracks, anyone? I'm headed that way in July.

I'm planning on taking my brother out to see some of the statues in Anza (the big metal ones I keep seeing everyone post pictures of). I've never been out there myself, where exactly are they? He's from out of town and I don't want to ride around like an idiot Thanks!

Thanks for the info. After more staring at the map, it looks like it is indeed part of the Pine Creek Wilderness Area. It's weird, there's a huge construction project going on back there (maybe hydroelectric power from Barrett?). Lots of signs everywhere saying "Project Access" and "No Project Access" directing motorized traffic down various roads. Curious, but I definitely want to stay out of wilderness areas - I respect the reasoning behind those a lot more than the random people that lock gates "just because". Here's a blown up shot of the area - Corral Canyon tracks are on the right side, the area I was talking about is on the left. Pine Creek Wilderness is in the middle.

Is there any access to Corral Canyon from the west? I'm playing around on Dualsportmaps.com and it looks like everyone gets there from the east, heading west. I'm looking specifically at Barrett Truck Trail and Skye Valley road. I rode up in that general vicinity today and ran across a huge worksite area with a bunch of helicopters and a big power tower. No locked gates, and it looked like I could keep going east towards Barrett lake, but I didn't know if I was going to get in trouble poking around over there or not. Thoughts?

Props to this place, they put on my tire today for $10. I didn't buy it from them, just showed up when they opened and they had me in and out in about 10 minutes. I already had the old one off, but got stuck trying to get the new one on, so I guess it was "half" the work normally

Had a great time - met a lot of cool people, drank a lot of beer, saw some awesome trails, saw a crappy campfire.... fun all around. I'm going to start a thread in Ride Reports where everyone can throw up photos.

My first bike was a 1992 Nighthawk... I was stupid and sold it. Man, I miss that bike!

I thought I found it... came home, compared photos... not quite! I'll try again on Sunday if nobody else gets it.
