  1. Pretty simple, I got a big head...I sweat a lot cuz I have to pick up my bike cuz I drop it all the time and now my helmet smells. Who's got a great way to make my armpit helmet smell like...well anything better than armpits really.

    our own private track!

I had an awesome time, whoever said dual sports werent meant to jump shouldve seen everyone that made it out. Noob and blind were airing out on some of the table tops and i know some has some good shots of bikeslut and goofy launching their drz's. the track was really mellow, i will say that this is probably the most noob friendly thing you could do. i mean if i can ride it, anyone can ride it. its a great place to practice, get better and faster and after about 15 laps i definitely feel like im more comfortable with my bike. cant wait to go back. heres a video that goofy made, i was purposefully going slow and missing shifts so that he could stay close enough to me to get some good video. its just to bad he didnt get video of me doing backflips or no footed can-cans...i think his camera was turned off or something.
  4. Id like to check it out but I had a rather long evening and didn't make it to the maintenance day today. That being said my bike still sounds like like a WW II fighter plane and the exhaust can is still ziptied and safety wired together. If I can fix it tonight I might show up.

    Death Valley Daze

This trip was awesome, made me realize how glad I was to buy a dualsport and get into this whole adventure thing. That being said it was definitely an adventure. Exploring abandoned mines, having my exhaust can fall completely off...and let's not forget Melinda walker, but I'll let Ian tell that story. Death valley is an awesome place to say the least. Thanks for everyone who worked to put this together, looking forward to doing it again next year.

    AFX Dual Sport Helmets

I have a afx 39 and love it. a couple things tho... Pros: It's cheap It looks cool Very comfy, even for my giant dome Plenty of vents for hot days Removable pads I can wear it wit my regular glasses or sunglasses comfortably Cons: It's heavy At high speeds I notice a decent amount of air creeping in through the bottom of the sheild, but that's expected. Overall I really like it, I would say it exceeds expectations for a 115$ dualsport helmet. And the mirror sheild actually does a good job of reducing glare. not sure if it's rated for that or not.
  7. Well, it all started out a pretty typical Wednesday evening. I was in PB drinking and conversing with women and friends alike at the classiest of Pb institutions, Bubs. goofyfooter had told me that he had a sunrise and that I needed to stop by.his place before I left. Well, I forgot. I ended up going to a bar, he told me he would meet me there and that it may take him awhile(anyone who's ever traveled with him knows "awhile" is a relative term) I receive a call about twenty minutes later and right away something is not right. First, not a single drop of sarcasm was in his voice, the last time he sounded like that it's cuz he was getting tested after his week long business trip to Vietnam. Second, he said he was riding the Nx 250, and in the year that he's had that thing those words have never been uttered in a sentence with a positive experience. Third, he said, "I'm gonna need your help" Now, goofy and I could be considered friends, though he doesn't bring too much to the table, and I think there's a better chance of me taking out one of the Kardashians, than me hear him say, "I'm gonna need your help.“ So I drop what I'm doing hop in my 96 Buick, and race to the scene of the accident. I pull up to see a man and his steed. Now granted that man was dejected, limping badly, and still contemplating every bad decision he made in his life, and his steed was seatless, bleeding oil, and looking like it was ready for the glue factory. Once I learned he was ok, I started laughing uncontrollably and trying to figure out how we could find his cute blonde savior. I hid the bike behind a tree, well more like placed, anyone who stole that thing deserved the karma that was about to be unleashed upon them. Picked up his truck and loaded the curse to head back to PB. Goofy is fine, may be a little worse for wear but nothing a death valley camping trip won't fix. Btw if anyone is looking for an NX 250 I know a guy who might be selling. Just needs a drain plug and a new clutch lever.

    noobs at lark

I was actually testing out my new tires...i wanted to see if they would be able to get me out of the deepest rut possible. i also wanted to see how they reacted when i grabbed a handful of front brake...

Yea that picture is capturing one of the 17 falls i think i had. im sure blind got a pretty good view of the other 16 considering he was riding behind me. good news is that im getting really good at jumping off and trying to back on the bike before anyone can notice. btw leave it to me to find the rain rut on the SIDE of the road thats 20 ft wide.... again thanks for everyone who coordinated it is greatly appreciated!
  10. So after about a 250 mile ride of purely pavement ride last Thursday goofyfooter dragged me out to pine valley Friday afternoon for a couple hours of riding. I fired up my Dr 650, decided not to heed the high wind advisory and met him at pine valley. The plan was to do a couple hours of riding and b back in time to hang out with some friends. Basically, the ride was over before it started. I was feeling pretty confident, and unlike usual I actual felt like I was going kinda fast. going down a large rocky, rutted out downhill, I,started to get a little squirly, grabbed too much front brake and then everything started to happen in slow motion. I hit a rain rut, unfortunately the Supercross style front end on a 99 Dr 650 isn't capable of these type of impacts and the next thing I know I'm laying face first in the dirt unable to breathe. We didn't even make it to the helicopter pad, 4.5 mi and 12 min into the ride, I completely knock myself out. It was like I got hit wit a Tyson left hook. I woke up trapped under the bike, my boot was melting on the pipe, the wind was knocked out of me and I couldn't remember how the hell I got to where I was. I spent the next 30 min trying to relive my childhood in hopes that it would facilitate some short term memory recovery. After a while I felt good enough to ride back in, we borrowed some guys ramp to load my bike and then headed home. I had never been knocked out, I gotta say it's a weird feeling. I guess my career as a professional boxer is gonna b put on hold for a while now, or at least until the brain swelling reduces.

Thanks for everyone who worked to put this ride on. And thanks to Bikeslut and blind for waiting for me as I took the time to practice gently setting my bike down and picking it back up. Hahaha just gotta remember no front brake...

    Noob ride

im totally in! and if i can manage to get my new tires mounted tomorrow ill be stoked to see how fast i can go before i knock myself out again. just kidding, ill try to limit my inevitable get off to minor flesh wounds and ego bruises.
  13. Substitute the words "all your gear" for the phrase, "none of your clothes" and that sounds about like an average Sunday morning.
  14. I must say my attempt to "power" out was thwarted by my distinct lack of skill. Someone once told me if u don't crash it means your not going fast enough. I will messaging some of you for your generous tire offers but I'd love to hear more stories about people knocking themselves out and trying to kickstart their street bikes
  15. That'd b awesome, I'll send u a pm so we can meet up. And I know I don't have a concussion cuz no matter how hard I hit my head I'll always remember I'm better looking than goofyfooter.
  16. Aside, from some bruises and muscle soreness I'm totally fine. It was my first crash of any considerable speed. Just fortunate enough to not have any serious injuries, I knew there was a reason you guys kept telling me to buy elbow pads...
  17. i must say i was always really reluctant to ride sand. but after goofyfooter and i spent a little bit of time out playing in the sand i changed my opinion. and this video made riding in those huge dunes look like a ton of fun.
  18. hahaha, thankfully the chest protector has yet to be tested but it is still greatly appreciated. Amazing how some saftey gear makes you feel like u can go just a little bit faster.
  19. pics or it didnt happen. and u better have gotten her number
  20. steelrain: his plan changed. he rode to NM to stay with our buddy for the night last night. he woke up at 4am today and routed a trip through el paso that is almost exactly 1000 miles. i havent gotten an update from him lately but im at work so im not really able to use my phone a whole bunch.
  21. oh yea good call on the tank i didnt even think about that. steel rain and trophy thanks for the options, ill def. consider them both depending on the status of mine when i get back. and the most recent update from tim via text: "F* you boyle" (shortly followed by) "the early onset of delerium is setting in" i think the redundancy of that statement is evidence enough. lets keep him going cuz im sure hes running on less than fumes right now.
  22. not sure how it broke but when i first got the bike i put the gas cap in upside down and it took me 20 mins go get it out so maybe that plus a combination of many other things had it frozen up. now the wish list is as follows: new rear tire:check IMS gas tank:black or white please new exhaust can: FMF Q4(assuming the one thats on there rattles completely off and he leaves it in texas) and thats about all i can think of now
  23. the last i heard from him he took a wrong turn and ended up getting chased off a military base for taking pictures. he still seems a little far from Area 51 but who knows. "my head feels like the drumset at a zepplin concert"
  24. next update "hot as balls in arizona" i told him to enjoy it while he can.
  25. when i was thinking about creating a thread to track his progress i had originally thought to name it, " My idiot friend Tim." hahaha i just got the first text update from tim. "Its gonna be a long day"
