IDBDR Sept 2023

I was there, and not the entire time was on a bike though... -
Selling a Kendon Single Bike Trailer Its been used, been stored standing up for last couple years. Tires - look fine Ramp - needs a wing nut to secure to trailer Height - needs to be tilted a tiny bit to fit under a regular garage door. Title - have in hand Location - Currently in LA, potentially could deliver to SD Putting on here, hopefully goes to a good home before the savages of the internet.

So I'm an idiot, some of you know this better than others. My OG Enduro Engineering tall comfort seat blew off somewhere between Santa Monica and Mission Hills. I haven't taken the seat of in probably a year, and have ridden it multiple times since then but that's no longer important. I have an 07 XC-W( i think, vin says this but might be mxc? who knows) with the OEM oversize tank. Seat concepts makes it very clear that their seat will not fit with the OEM oversized tank. Enduro engineering doesnt make 525 seats any more, and I could order an OEM one but in the OEM diagrams it displays the stock tank not the oversized tank. Who's ever ran this tank and what seat are you using? Pic for reference

Thanks for the help, in retrospect the enduro engineering seat it had always took some coercion to fit. Its the single bolt style so sounds like if i go EXC pan I should be good?

Mostly use for self protection against shady neighbors, but also work great for removing things that are in places that you no longer want them.

If you're riding with Goofy make sure your headlights working good! 8am kick stands up quickly becomes 930 which becomes I wish i brought an extra set of warm gloves! -
+1 for the $50 Ebay Kyocera and GAIA paid. Nice thing about GAIA is never used an app so easy to draw lines and importing GPX tracks is plenty easy.
-
Thats trick. I'd like to build something like this for my 525. Best guess on how many hours you put in? Anything you would do differently next time?

1night noob ride with weather.

The only thing I learned on this trip is that I need to get my hands on more plum schnapps and peach moonshine. @tntmo thanks for organizing, was a great time and reminded me greatly of the group/noob rides of olds! -

As a LA resident I only post on this site in most needed times. Here's the skinny... Currently having a 4x4 van built in Ashville, NC - should be ready by 1/7. I have from 12/20 -1/3 off from work. The plan 1. Load up my 450l with Mosko 80L bags and camping gear 2. Wear really warm and waterproof clothes 3. Take some fishing gear and see if i can catch any fish 4. Take a modified TAT route from LA to Ashville. What am i missing? Bowers dont tell my mom...

TAT on a whim? Brilliant adventure or completely idiotic

Currently in truth or consequence,NM Haven’t figured out if not having heated grips is a truth or a consequence yet. Hit plenty of dirt today and some twisties I hoped would never end. only like 2200 more miles! -

i feel as confident as one could feel about my gear, i may be regretting no heated grips. worst case i get over it and leave the bike with a buddy in texas and fly. About 90% ready to go! -

InReach will be going, I'll post the link up here. Due to limited time will likely be hitting lots of backroads and slab but will mix in dirt as much as possible to break the monotony. I heard hondas will run on french fry oil in a pinch so i shouldnt have any trouble with that riding through the midwest. -

Well bags are mostly packed. Still waiting on GPS routes from GPSkevin. Apparently stuck in transit between Santa Monica and Escondido. Feel pretty good about my gear, will probably need to swap tires midway through. Also will need to do many oil changes. Other than that what could go wrong!? -
Talked to Goofy this morning. Cold night but bike thawed out and he's on his way!

I had a similar mystery flat thing happen on my 525. 3 rear flats within probably 5 weeks of eachother. Turns out the little metal washer that goes over the valve stem was just rubbing its way through tubes! To your point, should probably check those more than every 10 yrs. -
