Great Suspension Experience
oldbeachguy replied to SteelRain's topic in Motorcycle Shops - Discussion
I also would like to thank George (Suspenders) for the work he did on my bikes. He replaced the fluids, seals and bushings on the forks and serviced the shock for my son's bike. On my bike he added a spacer to the rear shock to lower it. Very pleased with the whole experience. George would send updates as needed, good honest guy. Also gave me a chance to reminisce about the early days. Once again, Thank you George. -
SDAR Bikepackers To The River
oldbeachguy replied to kkug's topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
Great ride with good people. Ken did a super job of putting this ride together, he even showed us how to change a tire while in camp. Glad to hear that Trophy Hunter made it home safe. Had a good time saw some interesting sights. Thanks to everyone, had to leave early with XR650 Bum, plumbing problems at home. Ron -

Interested in the small bike ride, will mark the calendar. -
Thanks for all information. I stoped at GP Motorcycles on the way home today and spoke with Paul (nice guy). I am still going back and forth. I guess I have a lot to mull over. The DRZ will work till I can make a decision. Thanks again, Ron

This is my first real post I'm looking for some advise. After many years of not riding I got a DRZ-400. It feels top heavy, hard to throw into a turn, power is not an issue. I am sure that, I am some of the problem (it comes with age). I feel that at 300 plus pounds the DRZ is just heavy. I rode my sons KTM-125SX this week and what a difference, not the constant fighting of the steering. At my 225 pounds a 125 will not work for me. I am thinking a TE310 or TE450? I was looking at a 2010 model year TE310. Maybe a 2010 or used TE450? I plan on riding maybe once a month 95% off road. Any Husky riders have any thoughts. Thanks, Ron

Hello, my name is Ron and I just wanted to introduce myself. Looking for friends to ride with. I am not new to motorcycles, spent many years in the industry in my other life. I live in the Carlsbad area. It has been a good ten years without a bike in the garage (son has KTM 125SX). I have had bikes and off road vehicles over the years and of course surfboards. I am riding a DRZ-400. I think I was fast at one time, but at 60 this year I'm just here to enjoy the ride. Looking forward to meeting and riding with you all.

oldbeachguy replied to dirt dame's topic in 1 to 3 Day Ride Write-Ups, Stories and Photos
It was a nice first ride for me. Quite the workout, it has been many years since my last ride. Thanks to Mimi and the other riders for allowing me to tag along. Looking forward to more rides. Ron
