    Local Tire Prices?

Anybody found a local shop with (DS) tire prices competitive with online rates?
  2. A buddy and I are headed down from Reno/Fallon this coming weekend to pick up a couple Gas Gas Econos from Gary and get some trials training. We're heading down Friday to take the class on Saturday. Anyone know anything about hotels near Anza? Last time i attendeda class,i just drove upand back from Coronado - which i suspect most of you would do the same. I'm thinking stay in Temecula, and make a visit to the Stone Brewery bistro in Escondido. Little help? Thanks, Steve

Bruised Rib - How long does it linger?

I broke two ribs, punctured a lung, and shattered the end of my humerus back in '04. The greatest lesson I learned is that extended use of Percocet and broken ribs do not mix...or more accurately, severe constipation and broken ribs do not mix. Most painful experience of my life... Sure you'll be fine, though.
  7. Andy and I rode 7 down on Friday - I thought it sucked bad enough that way. The thought of "you don't want to have to ride back up this" kept me going. Looked like water was about the only thing that had been through that trail in some time.

    New Tool

I was eyeballing that thing as well. Been flirting with picking one up since I did the class at Motoventures in April.
  11. Doesn't seem to be that bad of a response - other than the fact that they're sticking to their guns on supporting communist hippies. But, if it motivates you to move on to one of the many WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY better breweries just in San Diego alone, then I'm all for it. SN is mediocre stuff, anyway Just finished a Ballast Point Sculpin IPA myself.

    350EXC vs 500EXC

The 350 has never left me wanting more power on the trail, you just have to be more conscious about keeping the revs in the right place - if I ever start to bog, I just give it a quick clutch pull to get the revs up. I have the XCF-W, which does have a lower final drive ratio than the EXC, though.
  15. I say the tribe be allowed to handle by whatever tribal custom would dictate in this case. I'm guessing it probably wouldn't include 3 squares, cable TV and recreation time.
  16. Finally got finished. Was going to try and do the drive to salvage the weekend, but I'm beat. You guys enjoy.

    350EXC vs 500EXC

I have the 350, and briefly rode Tree's 500. The 500 obviously has way more grunt, and the weight different wasn't even noticeable - but I didn't get to do anything with it where a weight difference might've actually mattered. I went with the 350, as I was getting frustrated with the weight of the 625, wanted something lighter to learn to ride more technical stuff, and didn't want too much power to get myself in trouble while I was learning. That being said, I would go with the 500 just for the simple fact that it has one less cam.
  18. Where are you guys camping?
  19. Well, damn. I'm on the flight schedule for Friday afternoon, so I'm out as far as making the trip up there goes. I'll be trying to salvage my weekend with a local ride. You guys have fun.

I don't think I could live without engine braking. My 625 is geared way higher than the 350, and having that extra control on the downhill's with the 350 has done wonders for improving my confidence.

Does the Rekluse eliminate the ability to use engine braking?
