You looking at weekend dates or days during the week? -
Nate Harrison is pretty easy. Just about anything two wheel drive that hasn't been "slammed" could make it during the dry season.

Wakemedic. I may take you up on that if all else fails. I've had some time to think about it and now realize that getting a 4x4 down there and out is challenging unless you've already done it before. See video to get an idea: If i can get someone or a group of people to ride out, troubleshoot the bike and get it to run or somehow get it back up the "the drop" up to a point where a truck can tow it, that is a possibility? Anyway, i appreciate all the suggestions with what i could to mechanically, but i think i'm going to need hands on help on this. The other possibility is to ride 2up on my bike until we get to the spot and try and get the xrl going? Could you get your hands on another CDI to bring out if it happens to not be a fuel problem? -

Yea if it just wouldn't restart due to the cdi, that would be an easy troubleshoot....However, if the cdi starts to poop out once the engine gets hot, that would create an intermittent problem. Gotta love it. At least it isn't a car with 4 times as many cylinders... I think my vote may still be with the fuel...If the bike was in the garage it "might" be a 5 minute fix, but its not like you can just run out there to investigate too easily. -

"(it ran) Normal 5 minutes or so and then suddenly quit. Sometimes it would start up right away. But it kept getting worse where we had to let it sit 10 minutes before attempting to start. It would start and then once you ride it for 5-10 minutes, cut out again. We let it cool down close to 20 minutes at one point to take a break and tried again. Did not help much. The bike was sitting outside for about 3 weeks with gas though. I filled it some more this morning. But it did have old gas and it has not been ridden in 3-4 weeks i would say. It got worse gradually as in it would cut out in about 2 minutes of riding." From what he's told me. I know this ethanol gas turns to water exceptionally quick. But why would it wait (to become a problem) until that far into the ride? Perhaps the petcock is plugging up? That would be easy as taking off the fuel line and blowing on it to blow the crap off temporarily. The CDI becoming inoperative once it warms up is a possibility, however slight. I haven't heard of that happening very often.
