Maybe more pressure? On the Heidenau K60, the manufacturer recommends running pressure up to 60psi for a few minutes and then dropping it back to riding pressure. This, after new some problems with installs and complaints of slow leaks on new tires.

Yesterday afternoon, a young woman I know was killed on 94. Here is the UT article. She was a careful rider who slowly worked her way up from a 250 sport bike to the GSXT 750 she owned at her death. That bike is for sale, and is in great shape. She was was riding a friend's bike when she was killed. Neysa was a single mom and leaves behind a 6 year old boy. Here is a link to help out the family who are also setting up a trust for any monies brought in. You'll be seeing donation jars at dealerships around town, and there will be a memorial ride with donations. Please spread the word on any forums you may be involved in. Thanks, Eddie F.

No, thank YOU! -
Local MX racer suffers traumatic brain and spinal column injuries. I have read conflicting reports, but it is likely the family will be taking him off life support in the next day or two. What an awful thing to have to do. Prayers for the family and Godspeed #96.

GOOD! Keep the area available for those that support it financially through licenses and fees. It's all about personal responsibility. Take care of the stuff that needs to be taken and you can have all the fun you can handle. Scoflaws end up costing everyone.

Yep, find a small group of "friends" to ride with. Like the small group of "friends" that I was with until being abandoned after getting caught behind a guy on a large older bike with giant bags. By the time there was enough room to go around him... POOF - and like that - they were gone. Last year was my first DD, and I had a blast.

They always manage to make this reference: "0News learned that the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet and..." Of COURSE he was wearing a helmet!! RIP to the rider. Wet, potentially greasy road on knobbies... <shivers>

A 280 pound DRZ? Where can I buy one of THOSE?! Actual wet weight closer to 320. "Claimed" Dry Weight: 291.0 on DrZ - "Claimed" Dry Weight: 324.0 on DR 650

Disclaimer- I ride a DRZ- my only real gripe is the gearing. Stock gearing is ok everywhere; for real dirt I go up to a 49 tooth rear and for commuting I go down to a 41 tooth rear Stock gearing is ok for 90% of the trails I ride, and okay to about 75 on the freeway- DRZ: I changed the gearing to 14/48, got the FCR Carb, did the 3x3 Airbox Mod, punched out some of the baffles in the can, added radiator guards, a "good" skid plate, UFO taillight assy, trailtech headlight, upgraded suspension, bark busters, larger foot pegs, and case protectors. I could have gotten a nice used KTM 625/630 for what I spent on the bike and mods. Still, it has been a great intro bike for me, and until the countersprocket nut backed off, I hadn't had any issues. The DR is a better get there to ride bike, but it's even heavier than mine, and mine gets HEAVY after dropping it once or twice on a hot day.

As I said on FB, that fork trick's bound to work on almost anyone. Hope Cody is doing well.

One heat cycle with hard riding and braking (Freeway stuff), and the "squirrely tire" syndrome will go away after a heat cycle. The tire manufacturers have pretty much dealt with that issue, and the days of thoroughly "scrubbing" are pretty much over. I have the same experience as other with the 606 up front on the DRZ. Street and dirt - It sucked ass. I have heard it's better on bigger bikes. I don't have a bigger dual sport bike so I have no opinion. . Pirelli MXMH up front and 606 out in back do me well on the street and the trail riding I do.

Holy cow, Randy, I try so hard to be good.

Wait'll you get a load of me in the pink mankini cruising around Butterfield Ranch Yeah, we don't want to see Schwinn in a Bikini. -
I'd LOVE a GOOD map of the area. The pdf people recommended doesn't come out good enough to read and I never know where I am up there.

Posted on FB and a street riders forum. Good luck.

Some of you may remember that I had a friend who was paralyzed in 2010 after an accident on one of his bikes. I know a few of us entered the raffle of his RSV4, proceeds of which helped defray some of the costs. Xavier (Pronounced ex- ai - ve - ar) has come back quite a ways and is involved in a number of able/disabled athletic activities and organizations. He will be "rolling" the Head North Silver Strand Half Marathon and has a donation goal of $2500. If you are interested in supporting this kind of thing, HERE is Xavier's donation page. Donations to Head North are tax deductible. What is Head North? Check it out HERE
