  1. I have a colleague who is going to Kennedy Meadows for the second time. The last time he got a little banged up and was wondering if I know anyone who had any experience up there who could offer some suggestions for "non black diamond - Oh ---- I'm so gonna die" trails. I know that some of us don't have any attachment to tracks we have created and others do. If you are one of the former and have something to share, please PM me - or email me if you have it. If you're one of the latter, please no rants on how hard you worked to create your files and how precious they are to you [gollum gollum].

    Kennedy Meadows - Next Weekend

Thanks, guys! He's not plated. but keeps agreeing that's the way to go. I'll nudge him - again - towards a DS on his return.

Two days and a Big Bike- what would YOU do?

Last year two of us took a 4 day trip that covered a lot of the southwest sierras, Gold Country, 4 Sierra passes and a miserable ride back down the 395 from Lee Vining. Day 1 to Springville 300 plus miles 10 hours Day 2 to Shaver Lake via Black Rock Road and a late afternoon trip over Kaiser Pass Rd. to Edison Reservoir. You can easily make it home from Shaver in a day if you're just commuting. Want to route, PM me.

Marine Retires - Thank You Jason

Jason, I was truly sorry to miss this.
  5. I'm tardy with this. Oops. BMWOCSD invites all to participate in the 36th Annual WJogn Hermann's Wildcat Canyon Ride. Escort John Hermann through Barona Reservation where all those years ago he was attacked by a drunken Indian. Since then, his friends in the motorcycling community have gathered once a year to assure safe passage for The King of the Alps. Street ride, but all are welcome. Meet at Giovannis on Clairemint Mesa Blvd/Rufffin at 800 for tire kicking and food. KSU 930

I hope it does not come to an end.

I'd get a 2nd opinion. A friend had his hip replaced. At the last piat surgery appointment, he asked about riding again. The doc was vehemently against it. Why? Will it damage my new hip. No, but it's too dangerous. Again, I'd get a second opinion and decide after that.
  8. Justin: I'm really glad I'm not screaming in pain. Eddie: Me too, or I'd have to hit you with a rock to shut you up. Kudos to the medical team, and thanks to Ken for helping me get the Justin and the bike loaded up in Ranchita. We ended up spending most of the time laughing, and, in the end, it was a pretty good day. Glad he's okay. 005 by tntmo2, on Flickr During section two, Justin came around a corner and ended up with his front wheel in a rut. The resulting crash caused his left knee to go kaput, so he was out for the weekend. Eddie was following us, he jumped right in and made phone calls, coordinated pick up of Justin and his bike and also gave him a ride to the hospital. Well done, beers are on us! Here's what dejection looks like. 007 by tntmo2, on Flickr
  9. Yeah, we get it. You're a fan of Big Red. Lots of people aren't.
  10. 2X. Black is always in. Black AND blue is my norm after the Dash.

    Roy Keys

Anyone remember a Keys Cycle in PB. Early 70s. Carried Maco, Fuchs, etc. Friend of mine used to work for him and is wondering if he's still kicking.
  17. If anyone had a gps on during this ride, I'd appreciate the route. I've ridden the area before - as a way to get from Coors Amphitheater to Alta Rd/Donovan - but I didn't recognize most of the roads besides the entry point. IM me, and thank you.
  18. I'm in for Friday reservations, packet stuffing, etc. Don't need any camping space.
  19. My friend from Colorado is in town for the winter. An old MX racer - Husty, Greeves, et. al. - he sends me jewels like this now and again. Bruce Brown show. Grab a cup, get comfy, and enjoy the show.
  20. Paul, have you ever considered public office? As I forgot what day it was and didn't make it, I will refrain from further comment. Well, okay, just let me say THIS: Putting a ride together that is going to include unknown riders is a labor of love. Leaders try to make sure everyone one is going to enjoy themselves and that no one is going to get hurt. My first D/S ride with this group - another Noob ride - saw me properly humbled. Trail riding isn't street riding. It takes practice. It takes being willing to look stupid. Sometimes it takes falling down. Whatever it takes, it's worth it. Bummed I didn't make this one. Sounds like a blast was had by - almost - all.
  21. Damn, I'm sorry I missed it. Seriously, I had no idea Christmas is THIS Wednesday.
  22. This is a chance to ad your input on Ocotillo Wells' "Draft" Planning Initiatives. There is a flyer that I have unsuccessfully attempted to attach. No idea why it won't upload. OW OHVA.jpg Upload Skipped (Error500)
