Made the mistake of making a non-refundable reservation at the Days Inn. *&!^$(*!&%$!!!!

Bar 10 ride the weekend before. Oh man that is going to be a lot of riding.

I'm doing it this year! I think I have logistics figured out for this trip. My brother and his wife are going to drop me off at Palmdale the night before then drive my truck to Vegas. Depending on the need, I have access to a 20' trailer that can easily carry 10 bikes. If anyone needs their bike delivered to the starting point then back from Vegas, let me know. You will more than likely have to find a way to transport your body. Seven bikes ready for Bass Lake.

Lots of snakes on the trail. We shooed at least 3 off the trails.

I've been wanting to do some riding outside of CA. This looks really interesting. Maybe even an excuse to get a new KLR....

This is my 3rd year in a row and the first time I saw cows on the trail. Almost nailed one coming around a turn. We ran into this big boy right before Whiskey Falls. He gets right of way.

I really want to do this ride, but I can't get any of my usual riding buddies to commit. I don't want to ride by myself. Before I register, I'm wondering how hard it would be to get in with an existing group or find another single rider who wants to team up. If anyone is in the same boat as I am, let me know.

I'm getting grip heaters this year. It was cold last year!! We had 7 guys in our group last year. After hearing how great the trip was, we'll probably have more this year.

Woot! I've been waiting for this post all year. I did the Bass Lake 250 last year and it was a blast! Can't wait.

Thanks for Crawdaddy and Strega for setting this up. This was my first ride with SDAR. I met a lot of great people. When we pulled into the parking lot at the end of the day, one of the bikes in our group, a TE-250 wasn't sounding right. We soon found out why. He dropped it around the "Nice Truck" and didn't know he caused any damage. Thank God he made it back. That would have been a long tow!? Uh oh! A little too close to the cactus. One needle went into my finger so far that it had to be pulled out with a pair of pliers. Signing in.

I've been lurking here for a few months. Time to introduce myself. My name is Andrew, 38, married. I live in Carlsbad and have two boys 4 & 2. I sold me 2004 WR450 a few months ago and got a new 2009 KTM 450 EXC. With about 100 miles on the bike, I did my first dual sport ride at Bass Lake last October. What an amazing trip! I am hoping to make the Terrible Ride in a few weeks. BTW, I was at Gordon's Well over New Years and ended up in the same camp as another SD Adventure Rider member - Schwinn.
