These are great until they break off.  They add too much top-heavy to the valve stems if you are getting into nasty stuff.  Just an opinion of course.  I've had it happen twice but i'm no longer in the nice desert sands anymore either...............

I’ve never just left them on, just deflate then remove.

Rad. Congrats. Retirement is awesome. Start working out now. Mid week rides are no joke. It's not just a couple old guys cruising around the desert. Mule and I got in a rock fight on Pole Line road last week with new knobbies. 🛵

I’ve been in one those rock fights with Mule. 70 mph and banging bars, old guys rule!

Hmmm, last time I tried to get there on my moto, I passed Henshaw at sunrise, and my vstrom started beeping and flashing warning lights like crazy.  Heck, that is when I learned that my bike had "icy Road" warning settings.  Heck, it was only 26 degress.  But when I turned at Warner and headed towards Eagle rock, and I was blessed with the moment of sunrise hitting the rock formation - wow, (as the formation primarily faces east)  I then continued on that road and I passed a tiny beat up booth with a bunch of cameras that implied that I should pay the attendant. I would have been happy to pay on my way out if open ( I didn't see a drop box).  I wandered around on indian land, and I looked out of place, but all the gates I found were locked.  I thought I would try another day since I like wearing my "Peak bagger" badge on occasion.  Never got back there, but would like to say I've been to the tallest peak in the county.  Maybe you have to prepay at a ranger station??  Thanks Weirdrider. I will look into it.  This pic doesn't do it justice, but you may get the general idea.

    Awww.

    This wounds me.

I don’t mean any disrespect, I’ve owned 2 950/990 Adventures and while they can be ridden off road and very well by some I don’t consider them “Off Road Bikes”. Just my 2 cents. You’re experience may vary.

I don’t at this time consider the T700 an off road bike. My hope is it’s a great ADV bike that is good off road.

  5. I’m thinking about the Sur Ron also. They are sort of the same bike but Segway says they have made improvements. I’d love to have a stealth bike for around the area.
