    Speeding ticket

+1 on Elizabeth as an attorney. She has helped us many times. As far as beating the ticket - sometime the tickets will just get thrown out of court if the LEO does not show up...and multiple reschedules/delays/etc are one way to get the officer to give up. Often times with an attorney, they will usually refund the retainer if not fully, at least partially if they end up loosing - and they still manage to knock down the fine a bit and have the traffic school option available. I'd always go with an attorney for a traffic ticket. Also less headaches if you never get the summons in the mail (happens once in awhile).
  2. Hey Ken, Thank you, I was just enjoying the ride from a comfy car seat this time. Too bad we didn't run into each other. Yep, goat trail- good eye!
  3. Let me know if any of you guys want the original high res photos. Sorry, those that didn't get a picture - I only had few hours to shoot out there on Saturday.
  4. What about the guy laying down in the background? Rider? All is good, I hope.

Club & 2018 Desert Dash Volunteers meeting

I cannot make it to the meeting today, you guys can put me on registration on Saturday morning.
  6. Hey gang, I want to see if anybody has been down from Anza to Bailey's cabin recently. I'm looking for an insider scoop on road conditions. I have been through that lower section a long time ago and the roads were mostly flat and sandy. Any significant rock gardens on the way now? Going to take a Subaru Crosstrek through there and don't want to get stuck half way. Thanks ahead of time!

    Upper Coyote Canyon, Bailey's cabin

Hey Rob, The gates are open now. Long story short - no. We took my buddy's 2wd truck, we made it to the desert floor, ran out of day light and went back up the next morning. There are few places on the trail that are nasty for 2wd and actually had to pull that truck out with the second vehicle that went with us. As far as Borrego springs route - you can drive up just before the road closure and hike from there - I reckon it's about 2-4 miles in. No motorized vehicles can go through the canyon.

    Upper Coyote Canyon, Bailey's cabin

I think you guys are thinking of the Borrego Springs side of the canyon? I was thinking of coming in from Anza.

  11. My wife and I would be glad to help with registration on Friday night and Saturday morning. I'd be happy to drive my Jeep as a rescue vehicle, if needed. Would need more discussion on this though. George
  12. I'll be happy to help out this year on Saturday. Possibly Sunday.
  13. Hey Mimi, thought I saw your rig on 215 northbound yesterday. We were heading up there too for some road biking (pedal type). Looks like you had fun up there!
  14. Hi, I'm redoing my backyard and wanted to see if somebody have a trailer they don't mind lending out for some sod and rock transportation to the landfill. PM please and we can talk about details/payment. Thanks! George
  15. Not to highjack the topic, but is Gate 3 on 79 (bagstr's link) always locked?
  16. Saw you guys on Fred Canyon - we were a group of two jeeps parked as you passed. Sorry about the little road repair, but sounds like you guys had a great time.
  17. Hey Guys, I'm going to be heading out to Anza Borrego on Saturday with the intention to ride my mountain bike. I never got to explore AB that much on my motorized vehicle Is anybody into biking or knows AB fairly well? Can somebody recommend a route please? We are not that hot on climbing a lot due to being out shape and all. No car off-roading here either so the road must be somewhat accessible via a regular sedan. We are camping at Butterfield Ranch on Friday night and hitting the trails on Saturday. I was thinking of the following options: Option a) From the Split Mountain Rd. to Wind Caves. Option S2 to the Mud Caves. Option c) Somewhere around Blair Valley, I don't know the routes there at all. Option d) Somewhere In the canyons East of Borrego Springs. Thank you for any input!

    Anza Borrego Mountain Biking

Pretty much hard pack all across the washes and canyons. Really good traction and fairly easy to pedal.

Thanks, everybody - we ended up riding S2 to Mud Caves after staying at the Butterfield Ranch last weekend. Conditions were perfect! Going to check out Pinion next after next rains.
