    Adventures await...very soon

Yeah, take the highway all the way to the lunch stop, then take the highway all the way back to Butterfield Ranch for dinner. No fun! I guess I better start getting in shape to wrestle the 500lb bike again. Hey, we never connected after last DD - we should catch a ride together one of these days.

    DRZ400s Starting Issue

I see - do you guys have a multimeter/voltmeter to see if the starter is getting power? I have seen the same issue with loose wiring on the estart button contacts, battery connections, and starter connections. I'd check the insulation on the wires too, may be shorting out somewhere. Did you guys hit that starter lovingly few times yet? As far as bump starting....I suppose it's possible that the carb got flooded and your bump start attempts were failing - not sure why it would not run, but it may be something that needs to be checked after the starter issue is sorted.

    DRZ400s Starting Issue

Try jump starting it from a car - sometimes the voltage on the battery will be correct, but it won't have enough amps to start anyway. This will give you an idea what's going on. If it still does not start the battery is not an issue. The click usually does associate with a dead battery.

    DRZ Transmission issue

I had a small rock stuck once where the clutch cable is connected to the tranny which caused the clutch to not disengage fully. Could easily see it from outside- kind of one in a million cases, but you never know! Good luck.

  11. This has probably been asked before, but I may have overlooked it....where does one get the GPS tracks for this? Or are there are none and we are to navigate via roll charts?
  12. Mailing the form and check tomorrow!!! During the ride, does anybody stay at the camp and socialize at all? My wife is thinking of tagging along-

    Lane splitting retaliation

I usually have the really big jacked up trucks slide over and try to block. Tell me about it...All the negativity aside this is exactly what I want to do when things like these happen.
  17. What time? I may join for part of it that's not too technical..you know my limitations -George
  18. Please be careful...this was my first dirt ride... Lusardi trail ride ...few extra pounds there and no haircut too...
  19. Adelina and I got to ride again - few months after last trip. I checked on the road closure status and confirmed that Lusardi is open: http://www.fs.usda.gov/detailfull/cleveland/alerts-notices/?cid=stelprdb5340229&width=full Packed the bike up and headed out. New 16/43 gearing worked great (17/41 stock), bike was very responsive and a pleasure to ride. Rode out to Roma, took Pamo Rd to Lusardi: It was hot. We had to stop few times to just cool off: We traded apple pie for sushi and happily rolled in home I'm starting to enjoy the strom more and more. Didn't clip the skidplate at all 2up and were able to go over all roads just fine, of course, we were going at snail's pace compared to my DRZ, but it still was nice. -George
  20. Thanks for kind words, it was great! I think I will go there next, never been by the lake yet. Blind - I'm counting on you next time! No more slacking -George

BS - how would you like to wrestle vstrom out of the bush I will try to make it there, but not sure on timing yet. -George
  23. Sorry, Randy, I was not able to make it yesterday to the meeting. I picked my bike today from Alex at Kontiki and he said you may have another loop for bigger bikes during DD. Is that true? I'd like to go, but limited to where the pig can go. Thanks, -George
