Bummer about the pig. It's bad enough to have an engine go boom, but especially to one that has been maintained so religiously.

A Terrible Weekend with Crawdaddy and Strega
cmayer31 replied to Crawdaddy's topic in Informal Local Rides & Who's Going Riding!
Is it best just to leave the bikes in the truck after the rides? Throw a cable lock through the frame/wheels and figure they'll be left alone? I know having an enclosed trailer is the safest option, but what have others done in the past when that's not an option? -

Thanks for the info! Good to know.

Did your bars already have KTM mirror compatible perches? I wonder if they make a bar clamp mount for those mirrors. I have the Acerbis on for looks only, but I've been riding the XR on the street more than I thought and an actual mirror or two might be nice.

We were talking about this type of scam at our office last week. I guess some guy got busted for making millions by charging Medi-Cal & Medi-Care for services he never performed. Supposedly it's pretty easy to get a patient list on the grey market for a few thousand and then start charging away. You can drink in the back of a motor home while moving, but can't ride in a travel trailer while it's moving.

After that last crash, he better buy something that wraps around his noggin. ?

Is that the North Bar off of El Norte in Escondido? If so I'll swing by after work on the 13th!

Apparantly in my drugged up state, I told the nurse she has 4 fabulous breasts. Woops. Well if two are good, two more must be better... Good call on ATGATT and happy to hear that the gear did it's job. Heal quick!

That was cool to see the leak down "tools" and the results. Glad to hear you have at least one bike ready to go for the race. Oh ya, nice shop to work in too.

Looks like fun. I'm in. -
Absolutely awesome! Well done guys, and nice new bike Chris.

Of the dirtbikes that I've owned this is my favorite. Too much bike for me, but we're working on it...it's a relationship after all. I'll admit though, my bike is is OK, but Zenosan's is cool!

In regard to the original post, here's an article with Paul from GPs comments on his side of the story. Seems CARBs side was awfully one side, but we already knew that...it is after all a CA collections regime . Husqvarna Dealers Lose Fight to DMV and CARB There's more to the article, including the authors commentary, but I chose to just quote a smaller portion of it.

Ironman, and other members of our armed forces, thank you for your service for our nation. We truly appreciate it! Return home safe.

I just consider it one of the "gray" laws. The specific act of a motorcycle sharing or passing within a single lane with another vehicle is not written as illegal. However, if a law enforcement officer doesn't like how you're sharing the lane or feel that the pass was in an unsafe manner they can get you for other infractions such as reckless driving. From the CHP website; yes I know it's not a vehicle code.

Thanks for the happy birthday! Sounds like having a birthday on a Sunday means working on vehicles and houses . Woke up, put my truck back together and have to start packing up the house; the new house in Valley Center closed escrow and once the county recorder is in office we'll get the keys. Wish I could have made either of the rides today, but it just wasn't meant to happen.

I'm going to miss this one.

Due to some unexpected maintenance projects for my truck, I won't be camping today. If I get everything done and the truck running, I'll be there tomorrow.

Beezzz, take a look at Yamaha Owner Manuals . You should be able to choose dirtbike, 2006, and XT225 and it'll bring up a PDF of the owner's manual. **edit** I realized the Yamaha official PDF is download only, not printable. I shot you a PM with some other links that might be useful.

Sounds like fun; I'll try to make it. Has anyone ever camped at either Upper or Lower Lark Canyon Campground? Is it tent camping friendly, or completely exposed? If it's decent enough for tent camping I'm considering getting out there Saturday and staying the night. Will also try to drag my roommate out there. He bought a bike, but never rides.

I guess fake name knows SOMETHING
cmayer31 replied to bikeslut's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
Hey FakeName, did you just cut off the S hooks and then slip wiregate carabiners on? I might have to swing by my local climbing store and replace the S hooks. I've never had one come off, but this seems like a much better idea. -
Looping the Big Ditch

Spotted the Crawdaddy mobile heading through Escondido on my way to work . Figured you were heading out for this ride. Have fun; looking forward to the ride report. -
Lame Rider Hits the Trail

I don't know...silver duct tape is one step close to white boots! Sounds like a fun ride to break in the new tape.
