    Knee Braces?

So, Dr. says nothing more than walking for the next 6 weeks and come back in to determine the next steps. Guess I tore my meniscus again and managed to get the ACL as collateral damage this time. Does anyone have experience with moto specific knee braces? I mostly need the stability support to protect the ACL as well as support to prevent possible hyper extension. Anyhow, I'll be relegated to road and easy terrain riding for a while.
  2. Thank you Fakename for leading, Trophyhunter for sweeping and everyone else for coming out for a great Sunday ride. It was fun meeting everyone and I look forward to the next ride. Tom, hope you have a quick recovery! Some shots from the day:

    Mickey's Search and facebook thread

Passed along the facebook link to a few other sites as well. Will try and help where I can.
  5. I'll be there. Trucking down from north county and will have radio.
  6. I had a ton of fun this last weekend and will try to make it out there Sat/Sun. I've been trying to get a few friends into riding, so this will be a great opportunity with a variety of riding for them. **Friends flaked and knee isn't getting better, so I'm probably out. Still thinking about making a solo putt putt ride, but not sure**

    KOA North Glamis

Big thanks to SDLineman for putting this together and hosting everyone at the potluck Saturday night. Also, thank you very much to Crawdaddy for the GPS tracks! It was great to meet a large group from SDAR and was an all around amazing weekend. I got to camp Friday days and set up in the tent area which I'm not really sure is part of the campground I really appreciate all the offers to move indoors and get more comfortable, but I truly enjoy tent camping and have my gear organized such that it's a really quick process to set up and tear down camp. All of my gear has been weather tested to the extreme and it really is as comfortable as inside for me. Casa de campo: Not a bad view at all: I swung by a few camps Saturday morning and figured that there'd be enough people out there that I didn't mind exploring solo and catching up later in the day. Bradshaw trail: Red Canyon: Some of the ridge roads that I road up onto: Then dropped back into some random washes and headed off to Bradshaw Ridge/ May's Wash Road: Started off as a packed road with some fun little whoops and fairly hide speed desert riding: Then it turned into deep sand and although I had a blast, it started to wear on me, so this was as good a spot as any for snacks and water: Got out of the deep sand and decided to find the Pinnacles. I ran into Trophyhunter and wife coming out of the canyon. They pointed me to the entrance and a fun little offshoot with a cool window looking up through the rocks: On the way back I caught up to dsfox, KTMomma, and Charlie (?), so followed them back to camp and tagged along on the Bat Cave / Oasis afternoon ride: Another great ride with the SDAR group. I hope the weather broke for those who hung around Sunday. I hit some weather heading north, but made a big loop through some areas I'd never seen and had a pretty fun drive home.
  9. Tent is setup in the 800s. Going to head into brawley and get some forgotten supplies. Will bring chips and salsa to the potluck.

    its my singers birthday

I second the Patron Silver....a slice of orange goes great with patron shots.
  11. and as much as you have to pick up that big pig, you have to conserve as much as possible.....................................oh sick burn That might actually sting a little if it wasn't so true It's ok, Cycle gear, ECC, and NCY once again saved me from spending any money because they didn't have one anyhow . Cycle gear normally has them but was out.
  12. I can bring snacks for the potluck: chips, pretzels, cookies ect... that's about the extent of my cooking abilities; store bought of course. I can't wait to get out there and ride/camp for a full weekend. Does anyone plan on heading into the dunes at all? I know you need a permit, but do you need a flag as well? I've never ridden in a dune of any sort.
  13. Good point on the heat. I'm pretty good with mesh based armor and a jersey, so it would suck to have an outer layer that generates heat vs. cooling me down. Decisions, decisions...
  14. I'm seriously thinking about picking up one of the vests. I keep my heavy tools in the rear tail bag and tubes in the front fender bag, but I still carry water, radio, first aid, and other small stuff in my camel back. I'd love to get the weight more centered and I haven't found a bad review of the vest yet; everyone seems to like them. I'd prefer a used one, but may swing by Cycle Gear on my way home and check it out. Oh yeah, and it's endorsed by
  15. Saw Chris has room and is in Ramona. There's room in my truck as a backup.
  16. Just saw it, how aweful I hope they can find enough evidence and destroy whoever did this.

    04CRF250X street legal AZ

Sounds like a fun bike, but according to this article it has a 37.9" seat height, higher than a 450r and weighs in at 241 lbs; still well under 300.

  19. Such a sad story and I can't imagine what her family and friends are going through. San Diego County Sheriff's Department has a pretty extensive SAR program and I think it would be great if we could work out an appropriate agreement where we can offer our services. They do have a motorized unit that provides transportation of repeaters, supplies, and radio communications when needed. I wonder if they'd consider making a second branch of the motorized unit that would be more SAR and less supply train. The San Diego Mountain Rescue Team recruit annually and hold their own training missions. They're more focused on technical terrain rescues, and have some more requirements to join, but could be a good group to get information from. There are other SAR organizations out there and if some members are willing to attend training sessions with them we might also be able to branch off of, or assist them where needed. If we do seriously look at some sort of SAR program to assist other teams or even a separate program I would be interested in helping out.
  20. I just booked a tent site, so now I need to find my tent... See you guys out there.
  21. Bagstr thank you very much for leading this. We couldn't have asked for better conditions in Anza Borrego and combined with great company it was a perfect Sunday of riding. I'm very happy with the radio setup once the push to talk stopped getting disconnected. Looking forward to exploring more of the area.

    ready ramps

Sadly my girly truck came with a 6' bed as the longest option, so I have to rely on assets to extend the length It really comes in handy with 2 or more bikes, but even with 1 bike in the back, I prefer the ready ramp. It folds and fits inside the cab to secure it, doesn't take much room in the garage, and provides a better loading/unloading angle due to the extra length. The fact that it doubles as a bed extender is icing on the cake.

    appreciative

    Great reminder.
  24. I'll see you guys at there at 9. Ken, I'm going to pass on the carpool as I'm not sure what my plans are afterwards. I'll have my radio with me as well and will be on 146.505
  25. If this is intermediate+ or advanced, I'll go play elsewhere in the desert. If this is intermediate- - intermediate then I'll probably tag along. It's a 2-3 hour drive out there and I hate holding more advanced riders up, so let us know. Haven't had the bike out sense Primm and need to scratch the itch.
