Great ride this weekend and very nice meeting you fellow SDAR riders that I did meet.
This was my first time in Big Bear riding the trails......really made me wish we had great trails like that closer to us. (or I just need to find them)
I was suprised at the hard way trails that I/we rode on. They can be very deceiving. My first thought was "that's it" and then it hits you......"this is awesome!" Next year I may take a run at that plaque! Best trail riding experience I have had yet.
Chris, thank you very much for the insight on the trails up there. I think the trails we rode were the best of the best!

Maybe you ought to just find a spark arrestor that is attached to a new bike and bring that instead?

Hey Brent, you came up in conversation yesterday in my office......Your cousin was in to see mehttp://www.rickclemson.com/Photo_Details.a...amp;EventID=320
Yah thats my cuz! He is the only cat I know that can slide a VTX1800 through a turn and come out the other side rubber down! Has he shown you his floor-boards? Or the lack there of!

No he hasn't shown me......we were just talking about Big Bear and he told me about his ride on Palomar.....so I showed him the website for pics. He spent last night looking for himself.
We were also talking about the ride on Memorial Day in Ramona........Good Times!

Anybody know who is all going?
I would like to invite all fellow SDAR members that will be attending the ride to a BBQ Friday night in Big Bear. I am renting a 3670 square foot cabin in Big Bear for this event. There is a deck outside with BBQ and a foose ball table inside next to wet bar etc etc (don't get any ideas in the hot tubs). Most likely we will be having a BYOB get together as well after the dinner at the convention center on Saturday as well if anybody is interested.
This BBQ will be BYOB and whatever meat you bring to BBQ. The cabin is about 2.5 miles from the Motel 6.
PM me for the address and let me know what and how much meat you will be BBQing....I need to get an idea on how much charcoal and sides to bring.

San Diego Sportcycles will be back somehow in July...... www.sdsportcycles.com
I buy from www.rockymountainatv.com from time to time as well as Cycle Gear (now that SD Sportcycles is gone)
Rocky Mountain ATV ships in 2 days and has great prices.......I just bought 2 pair of boot socks @$5.99 ea Fox Pawtector gloves @ $13 and Oneal under armor riding shorts for $34 shipping was cheap and no tax.

OK......went to HRO this morning and bought the VX-170 and the CT-91. It was the last on the shelf so I asked if they had more......THEY DO!
Out the door price for both was $138
Now I just need to figure out how to use this thing........
-
anybody happen to know if the VX170 will allow you to hook up a ipod to it so that you can listen to music while riding?
I have a chatterbox that I am trying to get rid of so that I can go with the set up in this thread. I really like the fact that I can listen to an MP3 player with my Chatterbox. As soon as someone keys up my music stops and I hear them.

This is a great thread! Does anybody have any other suggestions that would be particular to Big Bear? This will be my first time on the BBTR and want to try my best to keep my big girl running both days.

looks as though there would be a TON of wheel spin and not much traction.
I remember years ago a guy had an enormous paddle on a Vmax out in Glamis. Baffle was removed on the exhaust as well. When he ran that bike down the drags or up the hill it would give you goose bumps. The speed and sound was awesome!

Ok, I'll bite.....
I'm curious as to what afternoon hardways I *may* be riding alone/comfortably in the morning while the rest of you plaque chasing apes are over on the other side of the lake riding the morning hardways in the dust/crowd .......it's not that I won’t/don't ride'em, I'm just not interested in trying to ride all of'em on game day ......I'd rather ride a few UNCROWDED/DUST FREE hardways along with a few easy ways, stop for a REAL lunch, and be back at the hotel/cleaned up with a cold “B” in my hand when dinner is served .....BUT, that plan is sorta dependant on the way the tracks are laid out.......last year it was easy to take a couple of morning easy ways over to afternoon hardways (in the morning), have lunch, and then go snag a couple more easy ways after lunch (I''m generally not interested in tackling the tough stuff after lunch).......this plan also keeps me interested in riding on Sunday......if I went balls to the wall on Sat. I'd have nothing left for Sunday......sucks getting old(er)/fat(er)/slow(er)
I really like your idea for the riding...mix it up
