Can't wait! BEST riding in CA...
-
Wong's Dragon Room
La Mesa- 930 until ---
Friday, July 19th
The Tighten Ups
Dive bar; small dance floor; no cover; cheap beer
Damnit! have been waiting for Wong's and we will be out of town! (at least we will be riding)
Those of you that go....hold on tight! Their not stingy with their drinks....

I have not ridden the 350 yet....But, the only way i can explain my 500 is that it has the low end grunt of my XR650R and the "racy" feel of my CRF all in one package. Awesome bike!

Time for a ride up the 1...check out Jay Leno's bike bar, Pismo Beach, on up to Big Sue via Hearst Castle. One of my favorite street 2 day rides.
Setting up now...chk your calendar

Must be the "topless" that earns you a return year after year

When is the next Wong's gig?

Yes I do use the dimmer...it comes with a remote to dim the light. Looks like a car alarm remote.
No idea on a percentage... Just bright enough to not blind on coming traffic. Using maybe 30% of its ability????

Happy Birthday Deb!
Making me cringe thinking of how long Schwinn was searching the net looking at male "models"
No wonder why he has a tu-tu....
-
IN....
lurking for ride ideas after (that will dictate which bike to bring)

Please can we hear from CID and Hoss as to whether we "Need" more light than a single Squadron.
This HDB Kit is fine quality and all But; Do I need a full Racelight set-up to find my way into camp when running behind schedule, which is not going to happen often because I don't want to miss the party.
Absolutely not needed....unless you are riding the Dakar Rally at night, or in need of a tax write off.
Just one of those lights are much brighter than the BD Diablo light that I had on the previous bike.

Buddy of mine will be selling his alluminium frame 07' or 08'?? WR450 that is CA plated. He bought it with hardly any hours on it and has just about every billet cool item installed. Bike looks brand new.......with a plate even!

I have been debating on selling my 60CSX and upgrading to the Montana as well. Just need to find a buyer and figure out how much will be left over after the current project I am doing.

Well, I'm 5'4" with a 29" inseam......so not too many of you are shorter than I am....perhaps this is more "vertically" challenged, than "gravitationally".....
for me, seems to work to just swing my leg a little higher, or kind of "slide" my leg over the seat....it can be tricky...
.....the real problem is, if I drop the bike while fully loaded (as in my pic)... :blink:/>/>/>
It's a REAL challenge to pick it up by myself....but I can do it...all part of the adventure...luckily my riding buddies are awesome, and help me if really needed....
If I remember right you have the best kickstand money can buy....step up on the peg with the stand down and then sit. Lean other way with your foot down and kick the stand up.
-
just take your seat off of your bike and viola~
Personally I'd rather sit on a rock than my Husky seat....
Problem easily fixed HERE you won't be sorry

May try a paintless dent repair guy...they do a good job removing door dings on used car lots.

cleaning chrome such as removing the blue? Rubbing alcohol works good for that too.
removing rust: I like Naval Jelly
Oven cleaner will strip everything if you let it sit long enough. I have only used it to remove old caked on grease and dirt when restoring an old Jeep I had.
Depends on where/what the rust is located....you could remove with using a shell media blast or Naval Jelly. But, it would still need to be re-chromed.
Ride it down! I can help get a game plan for you over a cold B
Lots of good paints out there that work similar to powder coating.

I'll be camped by the railroad track road east of Split Mountain Friday night 'til Sunday afternoon.
