Old wise-man once told me the knobby tire is built for dirt displacement. The more spread out your knobbies are...the more dirt you will displace thus giving you less traction. The trials tires are very soft compound with the knobbies very close together. For me I need some slipping (displacement of dirt) in the desert with the sand etc. That is why the Maxxis Desert IT is my favorite knob tire. Knobbies are closer together than other tires and soft enough compound. Trials tires for mountain riding...need the traction more. But, all depends on the bike. My XR650R which is much heavier runs much better on a Dunlop 606. That bike would chunk up the Maxxis. If I were to put the 606 on my 500EXC or alike....I would hate it as it will get "blown away" with my style of riding. Not enough traction. Hard compound and knobbies are spread further. Run what you brung!

Just got a new one yesterday....he would probably run it better than most that will use this one.

Not still new...only has about 20 hrs on it. Still a pile of crap....brand new or used.

You can have mine...only has about 20 hours or so on it. Can't stand the stock KTM tires! For me.....Michelin HD tubes with 11-12psi up front and 8-10psi in rear Front: Pirelli Scorpion...(they do get tore up during the summer months with rocks tearing off the outer lugs. Have yet to try the MT43 front) Rear: Maxxis Desert IT (only during desert season) MT43 Trials tire for mountains and rocks during summer months at least that is the tire combination I use for the 500EXC (950ADV is a different and much more expensive story)

Great riding out there...just gotta split up in smaller groups like we did last time. You would love it! Congrats on the bike! FI on a well built bike...it doesn't suck!
