No gas in Puerto Nuevo. You can ride to Ensenada but that's 22 miles south. Plan on having at least a 125 mile range. Last time I went, My kids brand new husky BARELY made it back to Tecate for gas. Mine KTM with my 3.4 gal desert tank was fine. I didn't even have to put it on reserve.

I Had an issue mounting my soft bags with the exhaust pipe having no protection.I Figured I would try to make a shield (old school style) to protect the bag. I did put a nice layer of aluminized tape to the factory cloth shield on the bag. It took a bit to get all the bends shaped but It looks pretty good. I had to do a bit more hammering than I hoped on the rear but its functional.

I am on my 2 week vacation with no riding partner. I just mounted up my saddle bags on the 530 and see real possibilities. I am thinking 1 or 2 max other riders to run from warner springs all the way to big bear camp 2 days then ride home. I am really not interested in any black diamond trails just want to cruise mostly dirt and see some sights. I would want to leave on weds and be back on fri. I know its beyond short notice but I figured I may as well post it. Big bike ok! 1 or 2 riders max. camp off bikes for 2 nights.

Last time I hurt my ribs I also hurt my back. It took about 2 months before I could sleep comfortably. Crazy sore for the first few weeks then just uncomfortable. I feel for ya. Were you thinking about PN next sunday?

No that is not legal. That little road from the pinic area to the viewpoint is the PCT. It did not burn the picnic area or the other side of the road (sunrise) where the gate is.

I dont think the fire went in that direction. There is no sign of burn at the gate. We would have went that way but it was locked. Forestry told us he did not believe it ran down through deer park rd.

Should be ok. He's around this weekend. He may be at the lake. But you can always legally park in the bus circle out front. On weekends some people us it as a kind of park and ride.

Check free stuff on craigslist. There is fire wood there all the time

Hey gang, I just picked up a mostly complete 1978 YZ100. It is missing the coil and cdi unit and the engine has a bad rod bearing. It seized at the crank.Other than that the engine looks to be in good shape. Even the piston shows little wear and there is still cross hatches in the cylinder wall. I have never split a case before and do not want to dump a bunch of money into a unpopular model i.e expensive hard to get parts.. My questions are, is this a common bike to race in a vintage class? does anybody know the differences between a E model and an F model. The forks have schrader vales. are these air assisted? it seems like the springs are totally worn out this might solve that problem. Does anybody have a stash of parts? I need side covers and the ones on ebay are crazy expensive. There is just not a lot of info online about this model...way more on 80's and 250's. I would love to restore it as it is way too nice to just part out. I dont have a pic yet so I ripped one*. *photo taken from google image search.
