Bradshaw Trail -Red Canyon Ect. 2-27-28----Canceled -Cry

I have a similar problem with my group and plaster city. They will not try OW. I tell them about all the natural "wonders" and they just blow it off. Painted Gorge is pretty but a bitch to ride. -
Welcome!!

We sat with these guys at dinner. They were super nice! One fellow even had a gas can with him that another rider had returned to him at dinner. He had given up his reserve gas that day. Class act. -

I had a great time at the Dash this year. Sat morning in the rain climbing Oriflame is what Adventure Riding is all about! I couldnt see anything with my glasses and goggles fogged up and it was pouring. I loved it. Lots of deep sand lots of rocks in the deep sand. Then conditions would change to a motocross style traction with good berms and all (culp/jasper). Even on the pig I felt I was able to just keep on it. Really fun trip. I learned a really good tip from some BMW riders with a flat on how to bust the bead on the trail. We used the kickstand of my bike on the tire on the ground and just pushed. Worked like a charm. Food was great and lots of it. Thanks to Randy and everyone else who makes this ride possible. Especially KLRoger for being kind enough to find and return my lost items. I have a few cellphone pics but they are not great. Butterfield ranch was awesome, no better place to have this event. Ben -
That is one heck of an obstacle course. Nice payout at the end though!

There is a gps only route that goes into superstition. -
I lost my leather pouch that had my wallet and a pack of smokes in it. Between Butterfield and the bottom of Oriflame at the highway (section 1). Please PM me if found. Thanks, Ben

KLRoger just dropped it off. Cigarettes are so unimportant compared to losing the wallet. ----Roger, thanks again for taking the time to find my lost crap.
-
I think it has about $12 in it so I hope he buys himself lunch. EDIT Roger found it and is even going to deliver it. I love this club!!!
-
Thank God!! I will have to hook up with him. I do not have his # will somebody please give him mine. Thanks again for everybodys help. That was awesome.

Excellent!! I hope its still there. Very nice of everyone to help out. I cant believe I didnt see it when I went back to Oriflame on sat afternoon. The ranch actually called me back to tell me they are going to look for it.

I saw the pouch hanging on a stick that someone had placed on the trail about 1 mile in from the hwy on sunday on Oriflame on my return back to camp. I thought nothing of it cuz it was in a obvious place. The person actually found a stick and burried it next to the trail so they could hang the pouch. Very thoughtful, was it hanging there since saturday??? There are still people from the club out there. Maybe somebody could go find it for you. Does anybody know who still might be there?

I just tried to call the Ocotillo Texaco. It took all day to google the number. They have 2 numbers 1 is disconnected and the other goes to some crazy lady on an answering machine. It sure looks dosent look good for a gas stop.-- And online all theyre gas prices say n/a. Weird. ---Bump---

Last year that pump drove me crazy!!! I remember waking up in the middle of the night thinking" Why can I still hear that generator???" I will be bringing earplugs this year.
-
Seeley market in Seeley has gas. But that would be a 4or 5 mile backtrack from plaster city then all the way to Ocotillo. Seems do-able. If all else fails.

February 2010 DESERT DASH Flyer is Up on Site

Last year they did have fire rings. They were just the normal size rings 2.5 ft? diameter. Large enough for a nice fire but not a huge one. I would def bring wood. -
Oil question Don't go nuts...it's a specific ?
KLXBEN replied to Audible's topic in Equipment & Technical Forum
I just run regular oil. I think some bikes may have issues with synthetic oil. -
Congrats to the both of you!! Its not an easy task to excel in the A.F. GOOD JOB. ---Yes I remember dune season 2003. Very wet that year. Made for excellent traction.

Kelly, I like the Endurance. Like you said it requires no power from the bike and is easier to install. I believe it is also cheaper. I like simplicity. The Vector just does too many things. K.I.S.S. BTW Thanks for the tire hookup! They mounted great and I cannot wait to get em dirty. When are we riding? Look up my info in MO forum.

I just had RP Racing in El Cajon rebuild the forks on my 96 KLX650. They did a great job and had them done exactly when I needed them. I have had them do work for me in the past on a wild '86 YZ490 I had as a teenager. Always worked perfect and I swear the job cost the same then as it did now. It cost $155.00 for the complete job.-Ben RP Racing 619-588-7032
