Went to Isibella after gourging on turkey thursday. Got up there friday about dark stayed with a friend that rides bikes. Got up saturday to the white stuff , we decided to ride any way . the plan was leave my EXC at the lake drive to the top with the truck do a bike DH run then I would ride back up and get the truck. Bikes don't move in 8 to 12 inches of new powder unless it is down hill, so we pushed till we found down hill. WE put first tracks down on JUST OUTSTANDING and never got out of snow till after the end of the single trak.
At the lake we loaded the bikes in his truck I changed gear and went back up to get my truck . Sorry no pictures of the MC trip up
I left me camera on my bike. I think it was easer going down on the bike then going up on the powered bike.
Yes I did ride the pictured roads about 1.5 miles in 20 to 30 Min. tool a while to get use to following the rear wheel , It was fun but I sure was glad to see my truck, with a heater and phone to take the pictures.
Day 2 pictures are the non white ones. Decided to ride below 3500 ft.
Thats all for now

Hi all, I'm a new guy here but I've ridden for years. Some friends and I did Sawmill trail last weekend in Jeeps and it's open but the second half is indeed steep and rocky. Santa Rosa spring was running fine and cold,as well as other wet spots on the trail.Hi and welcome, Ricko,
Maybe you can answer my question. I can't find Sawmill trail on my map. Can you give GPS coords for the trailhead or tell me where it is in relations to Pidgeon Springs Rd?
Steve
I just checked out google maps and sawmill and pidgeon springs road are the same road

I would love to go this year. Does anyone campout or does everyone stay in hotels? I'm new to this whole thing:)I camp out at Mammoth quite often there are campgrounds on the right just as you come into town. I like New shady rest best for location Old shady rest is also good. you can reserve at WWW.RECURATION.GOV or try first come grab a spot. for more premitive camping there are quit a few camp sites on the road down by devels post pile you can usualy get a spot there if everythimg else is taken. I plan to be there someware but will be riding DH bike on slopes mostly and hope to hook up for some MC riding 450 EXC type.

Well I got my brother to go . got up there late friday . camped in the rocks at the river . Sat ride went up to shermin summet and down cannell to big meddow . Jim bent his front rotor so we took it off and rode fire roads till about 7:00 pm . day 2 we rode mostly fire roads in the clear creek area . I did a few single tracks but mr. no front brake decided to wate on the roads. we logged just over 11 hrs on our bikes for the 2 days . allways returned on resurve . did see 1 black bear up close 20 ft. and 1 deer plus tons of small critters. night temp at river in 60s, days 70s. at altitude 60s in day, evening 50s . took lots of pictures so here they are:
