Great ride JON the ride as seen by DON we got to our staging area, TRIPP & BOW TIS TA , pretty early (before noon) and off we went. Past Tripp flats camp on some fire road with some numbers and a N in it. Past the hiking trail and turned left at the split to another N road then split to the left again and before we knew it we were here. Top of ALI HAND RAW OK here we go down At the bottom turn left on BOW and over to HICK SON up we went to the funnnnn blue loop at the end we decided to go down the black trail and do the blue loop again. down we went past the hard right that sneaks up on you because the CLOSED trail goes straight . soon after that a "nice" trail to the left got our attention . Where does that go? He said I don't know . Lets see. A ways down the trail I decided to park in this parking spot. Before finishing my trip up the hill After a bit things got easy, after all how hard can it be to cruise down a hill? after the first couple of 10,000 feet drops, I began to think maybe we should go back . I looked behind at the trail and know this was a one way trip. Shortly after that I caught up with Jon just to have him tell me there is a locked gate ahead. JUST KIDDING we hit BOW and went right, a ways down is a trail to the left we had spotted from the edge of space . Up we went still looking for the HOLY GRAIL trail , at the end we found a bet you can't make it climb YOU CAN'T SO back to BOW we went. The sun was soon to be behind the mountain so we decided we should jam up HICK make a loop then on to the N fire road and home. Well we missed our turn off and ended up at the bottom of ALI looked at it looked for the sun and decided not to do it but we could go to the wash I thought I had seen trail that merged there.got to the wash no trail well lets just go to the first bluff. that wasn't bad we have enough light to go a few more miles then turn around .well reality set in WE ARE ON THE TRAIL , why go back. When we went through the over grown section I realized maybe this wasn't a good idea we seem to be loosing light. Well next thing I know was we are at the top there is the N trail home we still have plenty of light . WOW that was a great idea . Back to the truck load up and go eat. Here are a couple if pictures of JON using my super camera on zoom Well I do have movies will load them later unfortunately last trip on blue HICK a very friendly stick of some sort ripped my camera off my head , when I put it back on I got it set a bit low

Talked to the ranger today 5-11 she said snow is gone but crews haven't cleared all the trails . That's ok if we can't hop over it can build a bridge.

SNOW........... IT can't stop me Don't know But I am hopping for the best. It seems all the forest web cams I have been using are down for some reason I am thinking it is budget . I plan to ride by Alta Vista and maybe Breckenridge . Don

Rode kern Sat and Sun great way to bring in the new year. Temps low 30s at night low 60s days. Most of the trails were open and clear. 31st did hit some snow (not bad) and ice (sucks) but that was mainly on the north fire trails. Single tracks were clear except the puddles on the back side of woops but that ice just broke. 1st stayed on the south slopes and the riding was like this looks like it will be ridable all month.

Change in plans going to KERN tomorrow PM for a few days DON
