Robert did you find the engine braking severe on your ride? I rode the 450 rr and either it was just due to being brand new or some soft springs up front. Seemed to dive severely on small throttle reductions. I like the ergos and like I said the motor was still really tight/new

Doesn't the low pipe thing have a lot to do with keeping fuel cooler that's stored towards the back of the bike?

A lot has changed since 1980

Because I'm sure even if this does happen that Ktm and the rest will just settle. They bring out new and improved models every other year. By the time honda gets around to actually making this bike it will be five year old Ktm technology.

But then they have to pay someone to drive around and empty the payment boxes everyday. Even if it is a better idea.

I just want to share a little personal experience with the man. This was a few years ago 2011 I think? at one of the worcs races I rode. After the first day my son, who was just barely three at the time, and I were heading back to the rig for the night. He was riding his KTM strider bike next to me. Our path took us past the factory KTM pits where they were all working on the bikes setting up for the next day. We stopped to admire and I hear this "Hey Hey little man you wanna race?" I looked up just in time to see Kurt coming out of the back of the truck with his own strider modified for a little bigger boy obviously. He proceeded to set up a track with cones around the area and spent a good 45 minutes maybe more "racing" with my boy laughing and goofing off. He went and got drinks and treated the both of us like we were part of the gang. Never met him before in my life and he was for that short time my boys best friend. Got a couple cool pics of him getting parked by my son in the corner and stuff like that. Heck he even made a point to find me the next day and give me a little pep talk before taking to the track. I bumped into him a few times after that and he always asked hows your boy and if I was still riding etc. Class act and truly one of the greats taken way to soon in my mind.

I know this probably does not need to be said but in that area be sure to have an optional route planned as things can change quite quickly

Got a chance to introduce my best friend to the trail riding world today. We rode in Ramona and I tell you what I think I broke my face sming to much. This is the only pic I took as shortly after taking it I get this from him "Daddy we came to ride not take pictures right?" That's my boy! He rides a PW 50 for now which is basically just like the CRF Crusty rides just blue plastics. He did amazingly well considering he has only ever been to tracks and just started seriously riding three months ago. Pretty proud day! I'm still smiling.

Lucky little kid. I swung a leg over my first dirt bike at age 32. Growing up in NYC will do that, not much dirt there. I hope he enjoys it as much as I do.

I saw a little dodge pup diesel 4x4 on craigslist yesterday in Carlsbad I think. 40 plus mpg and cannot be stopped I may buy it so hurry Lol
