My bicycling experience comes in handy every time I ride; balance, maintaining inertia, traction control...it all comes into play and should serve you well. welcome to the club

While we're having a tire thread, it's worth noting that the MT43 is a "hook up tire"...bowers, don't get the wrong idea...it grips; it doesn't spin, and dig, and slingshot out of loamy corners; it complements my DRZ very nicely. the DRZ is maybe 35 horsepower in a 300# package...while we're on the subject, I didn't care for the 606 front tire on the DRZ, but I liked it on my KLR. different tires/bikes/riding styles. Can't only consider one thing; it's the combination that matters

It's definitely no paddle

AC10 for me, IF I go out to the desert enough- MT43 is just "ok" in the sand, and not ok in the dunes.
-
Yeah- the hybrid weighs a butt-load...think of it as "rotating mass" helping to reduce stalls...it is truly a beast
-
I'm not good at math- 2x as good as an MT, half as good as a knobbie...carry the one and E=Mc2 @ 32 feet per second square, add a cup of sugar, and maybe i'll try this @ The Isle of Man

I'm slow and have never ridden anywhere cool...maybe I'll give it a whirl and axel's bike and decide after that
-
Tubliss is a different animal; the "inner" tube runs like 100 psi, allowing the tire pressure to be way lower...like 2-10 psi or something (less air and less pressure). That being said, I have no idea what it would feel like on a dirt bike
-
Do you think the pattern or the compound reduced the traction? The compound seemed firm, so I wouldve thought you would get more than 1500 miles from it. Also; looks like it would roll pretty good on pavement...considering a more dirt-oriented tire for my KLR
-
I get that sometimes too...

Corral canyon- twice
-
Do you actually ride? Last time I saw you ride you packed up before 10..."it's too hot"
-
I was thinking the same thing Alan; like the d606- sturdy sidewall...the MT43 is like mush flat
-
I think the motoz has a couple different patterns. Other than having to mount it, I liked the tire; good pattern, solid knobs, and a better edge for cornering (MT43 feels like it deforms on tarmac when leaned far; like the tire wants to stay "flat"...same thing on hard-pack)...

In my limited experience; diesel prices don't fluctuate at the same time as gas. Sometimes it's cheaper, sometimes not. MY diesel rarely needed repairs...damn thing was bulletproof. But; repair of the diesel stuff cost more to fix

He said he's in Carlsbad- cougar country....curltop; lots of east county rides this time of year. Some Ramona and Otay rides....but desert season is right around the corner; I can hardly wait

Happy birthday Craig! Glad you're out riding!

Ride that thing

Looks awesome...I could have a vacation home there

You were? Where? Didn't notice you...hope you had fun

When it cools down...95 @ 9 o clock is stupid...but the bike ran ok. Clutch needed adjusting more than once. I don't feel any horsepower, but power delivery is definitely crisper. Thanks for tagging along...we'll get you on a trail eventually

Ok- carb seems to be working. It is stuffed in there though. I should smarten up and get a real dirt bike. 6 am Albertsons. It may be a short day, but I'm ready to ride
-
Miriam...still up? Carb is installed, but not working quite right...please post if you get this. I'm probably not going to make it, unless I ride my...klr
