Hi All, My name is Niels and I just recently found this site. I've been in the SD area for a couple of years now but haven't really done much dual sport riding as I ended up going to the dunes to get most of my riding in. Now though, I'm really interested in finding and exploring what the SD area has to offer in. I'm riding a TE630 and love love love the bike, it's my second one (had a TE610). It's a bike I can do anything on... sand / trails / highway / street, they are all a blast on this thing! I look forward to getting together for some local rides in the future!

Well damn...now it looks like I am going to be out of town. One of these days I'll have some free time! Gonna have to catch you guys on the next one.

I'll wake up at 5, drive up to Oceanside on my KLR, pick you up and we can caravan back to Alpine... see you in Oceanside @ 6.I ride from Oceanside once a month to Alpine, and it's always traffic free, and riding the 52 is pretty nice.. Watch the coast for a while... you know... an adventure I wasn't too worried about the distance just the time... I'll have to see about being gone for so long. As you just mentioned... happy wife, happy life!

Oh YIKES... just mapped the starting location. Hour of slab just to get to the start of the ride! Not exactly ideal for a TE630 hahahaha.

Well, this may be perfect timing for me... I'm a N00b here but not to riding. Don't know much about the area and I'd love to meet some locals! Any guess on estimated range we will need to make this route? My ride still has the factory tank.
