He took it to the shop today to have it looked at; he's pretty concerned. I wondered if the wrap would hold the heat in as well. I don't like the sound of boiling fuel, that makes for one hot engine!

While I am not much of a picture poster, I never really think about the bandwidth that I may take up (and I suspect most folks don't). The hosting sites just seem like more trouble than they are worth and then control your stuff (like Photobucket seems to be doing). Thank you for explaining the bandwidth issue (I did not know), and I promise to only post relevant pics in the future!

When else would you need them 🤣🤣🤣

You don't get that kind of service anymore (I am old enough to remember full service gas stations and trading stamps, so I go back to that in my head). That's pretty cool!

I have never been a Photobucket guy and it seems they are always having some sort of issue (weren't they free for the longest time and then all of a sudden said you had to pay for an account? And they held your pics hostage of you didn't pay up?). May be a stupid question, but why have a Photobucket account anyway?

Can I have your pen collection?

Holy crap-I thought you were really on a roll with that! Whoever wrote that is really creative and a bit sick, all at the same time. "Bonus living legend status will be applied to you for the rest of your life" Too funny! -
Great news; keep up the amazing attitude!!!

Happy anniversary, Tom!!

Perhaps opposing was not the best choice 🤐 I guess I could just see that there could be two different interpretations and you went in with civility and humor in an attempt to create a dialogue. While you may not have got your way (yet!), I sense a respect on both sides. Many could learn from this approach! -
That is how he got it and it didn't seem right. You think they just pulled it to make it noisier 🤔😡

Nice to see a civil conversation between two "opposing" sides. Good for you to present "our" case so well, Paul! -
They don't wrap it because they are saving money. Then you burn yourself. Next the valves fail due to excessive heat. You try and buy a pipe from an aftermarket company that Honda has an interest in, therefore making more money. A dealership that Honda owns does all the repair work and they make yet more money. It is a conspiracy!!! I'll tell him it is normal and to just ride the bike.
-
Thanks, Tom! He wrapped the pipe and I just want to make sure it doesn't do more harm than good, like holding the heat in. Knowing that this is normal like you and Ken mentioned makes me feel better; that thing was glowing!
-
So you think this is normal, Ken? Do you think an exhaust wrap would be a good thing or a bad thing? I know pipes get hot but this happens so fast that I was concerned. He does notice it at idle and in the technical stuff so maybe it is the "not moving" stuff that is causing it like you suggest.
