It was the start of 20 laps on a track that appeared to have limited passing opportunities. The winner in the 250SX race took the lead on lap 2 and held the lead for the remaining 13 laps. The 450SX race had Stewart take the lead before lap one was done and lead all 20 laps with Villopoto riding in second the entire race. Roczen was in fourth for the first eight laps before getting into his ultimate finishing position of 3rd. So what chance does Peick have to catch the lead group with a start so outside Magellan would have a hard time navigating to the front?

It don't matter because Peick ain't got time for that!

You won't see this impressive ride on TV. I was there and it was amazing the time he was making up on the riders in front of him, and the big named riders he was passing.

Lap 1 – 14th

Lap 2 – 12th

Lap 3 – 11th

Lap 4 – 10th

Lap 5 – 9th

Lap 10 – 8th

Lap 16 – 7th (passed Tomac)

Lap 17 – 6th (passed Barcia)

Lap 20 – 5th

It was a long day for the SoCal native. Crashes in practice, heats, & semis, a LCQ win and a quick turn time to the main to secure a top 5 for the second week in a row is a lot of work. Here is how Peick responded to all that:
