Sweet ride john, never been on that 'side tracked' road off of pine creek before. And, looks like i took more pic's than i thought, i think i got a really good one of the main valley while riding through the burnt pines.., i'll try to post them tomorrow night.. As for the inverted Austin Martin, I think he miss read the road sign.!!!

IT WAS SATURDAY MORNING 8;00 AM WHEN I MEET A ADVENTURE RIDER FROM THIS WEB SITE FOR THE FIRST TIME JOHN , ALIAS "CARGUY" . WE PLANED TO MEET AT THE ENTRANCE TO CORRAL CANYON AT 8;00 AND RIDE UP TO MEET RANDY AT CAMP OR ON HIS WAY OUT .JUST TO GET A LITTLE RIDE TIME IN BEFORE BREAKFAST, WHILE LOOKING AROUND FOR A FORTY FOOT WARRIOR INCLOSED TRAILER WITH A JACUZZI ON THE ROOF,ALL WE FOUND WAS TWO TINY LITTLE TENTS WITH FROZEN KNOBBY TIRE TRACKS COMING FROM IT, THAT TURNED OUT BELONGING TO A COUPLE OF RIDERS OUT OF L. A. THINKING MAYBE THIS RIDE WAS A APRIL FOOLS JOKE ,OR MAN THESE GUYS ARE HARD CORE ADVENTURE RIDERS, WE DECIDED TO RIDE TO MAJORS COFFEE SHOP TO SEE IF THEY WHERE ALREADY THERE. SURE ENOUGH THERE WERE DUEL SPORT BIKES OF EVERY MAKE AN COLOR ALL OVER THE PARKING LOT, AFTER SHOVELING A COUPLE OF CARBO'S DOWN OUR NECKS , WE ALL HEADED BACK TO CORRAL CANYON CAMP SO EVERYONE COULD UNLOAD THERE BIKES WITH ALL THERE CAMPING GEAR AND FIREWOOD THEY PICKED UP IN PINE VALLEY . AFTER A SHORT WERE THE HELL ARE WE GOING MEETING, WE HIT THE TRAIL AN HEADED FOR THE BORDER ROAD, LED BY RANDY ,( KTMRAD ) ONLY TO WITNESS A MODERN MARVEL OF ENGINEERING, YES THE BORDER FENCE...IT ONLY COULD BE COMPARED TO THE GREAT WALL OF CHINA.. EXCEPT WITH RUST.. HEADING FOR JACUMBA WE ENCOUNTERED A SMALL PROBLEM,, A BUNCH OF GUYS IN CAMOS WITH GUNS, THAT TOLD US TURN AROUND BECOUSE THEY WERE GOING TO START BLASTING... OK !!! NOW I SEE WHY THESE GUYS CALL THEMSELVES "ADVENTURE RIDERS " .TURNS OUT THEY WERE JUST DOING ROAD WORK, SO WE BACKTRACKED AND FOUND OUR WAY BACK TO HWY 94 AN HEADED EAST TO JACUMA , AFTER STOPPING FOR SNACKS AN GAS, WE HEADED UP TO THE TOP OF A OLD VOLCANO AND STOPPED TO TAKE IT ALL IN. IT WAS ALSO OVERLOOKING THE DE ANZA SPRINGS NUDIST COLONY. ....AND I REMEMBER THINKING MAN THIS MUST BE HEAVEN.... AND OF COURSE, OUR KODAK MOMENT, SO HERE WE ALL ARE POSING FOR A GROUP PHOTO,,, BUT THEN A FELLOW RIDER TAPED ME ON THE SHOULDER AN POINTED AT RATTLE SNAKE FOUR INCHES FROM MY RIGHT FOOT. ..." I FORGET WHO IT WAS BUT THANKS FOR SAVING MY LIFE BY THE WAY AFTER OUR GROUP PHOTOGERFER SNAPPED OFF A COUPLE OF SHOTS OF HIM, WE HEADED BACK TO CORAL CANYON, USING EVERY DIRT TRAIL WE COULD FIND, WHILE COMING WITHIN A COUPLE OF MILES OF MY HOUSE ,IN LIVE OAK SPRINGS, I BROKE OFF AND CALLED IT A DAY, GOD ONLY KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THAT... ..Re-posted by Kaw'ee // back then Wow ee Kaw'ee .

Since john led this ride and I rode sweep, for the whole two guys ahead of me. I finally got to get a bunch of good shots with riders and bikes in them, not just vista's and pics of my bike all alone on a dirt road.. The Saturday's ride proved to be one of my most challenging rides to date. should have know when a S.D.A.R. rider mikeyB ( michael ) shows up with a full size KTM in the back of a subaru with a 24 inch bed . and yes, that's his patten .. We first hit dirt about 5 miles from the casino onto this injun land border fence line, that leeds into the back side of mc cains valley. Which punches out at the far end of mc cain road.and a short ride down to cottonwood campground Wanting to give mikeyB the full tour since hes never been out here, we toured the campgrounds Heading out we stopped at both vista view lookouts, and stopped at the ' off road only ' area, which i would not recommend on the weekends. So off to rockier pastures we went,, heres my first 55 mph action shot ever.. Off into north in-ko-pahs we rode,looking for the trail john found last wednesday.with tails of bigass sheep. Then down into rocky road heaven .no need for motors on this downhill canyon. and we wanted to surprise the bighorn sheep if they were still hanging around anyway. Heres a great shot of my glove !!! but its also pointing at one of the bigass sheep. As beautiful as she was, shes still no match to fluffy. Onward and downward we went till we crested the view of the freeway below, After reaching the bottom and getting ready to jump back on the freeway ,mikeyB saw a road that headed back up the other side and wanted to at least check it out.. well of course it got steeper,and rockier,and steeper, and rockier, till there was no sense trying to stop on it and turn around, so step'in and fetch'in we went,.and yes, fear will make you a better rider,!!! .lucky for us, we all scaled it without a crash an burn.so we stopped at the top and passed around the toilet paper around.. thanks mikeyb !!! . I was going to buy new shorts this week anyway. Well feeling like true adventures now, we headed out to find ' Tabletop ' Yep, another rock infested sharp lava rock expedition, ,my personal favorite. Michael liked it so much he ran back down and chased john back up. But once there the view from ' Tabletop ' was worth the days ride. yes in deed............... " ANOTHER GREAT RIDE ".................you should have went !!! .

Hey jay.. wellcome to S.D. and S.D.A.R. .a couple of us went out yesterday on the saturday ride, but i wouldnt recomend it for a klr or anything but the dirtbike type duelsports.. its allmost to hot to have a good ride this time of year, so the posted rides will probably be a litte slow for the next couple of months..but i'm sure some of us diehards will still post a ride every now and then. . Gee, i was just getting used to BBQ's and eating and drinking beer all day,, Thanks for getting us back on track .. ..LET'S RIDE.. . BIG THANKS TO JOHN FOR STEPIN UP, AND HOSTING THE BBQ... Igot there a little earlyier than most, just to sample the beer supply and make sure it was up to S.D.A.R standards..after about my first six ??? I was convinced it was safe for all............... Soon the members started showing up, 2 wheels led the pac in on his DR/ DS Followed by rideorange on his orangeride. And coming in hot on his ktm, due to no clutch...was tree,.with a great pair of designer undie's on... Well it was beer thirty by this time , ...' SO LETS PARTY '.... thats 2wheels on the left, and husky4me on the right... After a couple of beers we decided it was time to eat, There was enough food for twenty of us, with bigass burgers,,bigdogs, chicken breasts,, chips n salsa, ,and some shrimp that rideorange (ron) brought heres or top chef showing us his secert shrimp sauce, i think it was coors lite and something really salty...i loved it.!!! Then it was time to fix the broken ktms, same old story no matter what bbq you go to,, (sorry but whats one more dig.) . heres john relaying back to the rest of us how big the rock was that tree hit,, Heres tree showing us how little the rock was that he hit. Hes doing fine, TREE says hes lost a little BARK before.!! Why does he call himself TREE..becouse he cant seem to get rid of that little bird'ie at the end of his branch....

I dont remember no BBQ... thanks john,, made it home safe.. i think the double whooper cheeseburger, 2 bigdogs ,an half a chicken, did the trick.. looks like you started something good,allready two offers to host a bbq. GOOD JOB !!! Will repost soon as i get my film, devel;,, and thanks tree, for bringing the pizza..(you'll have to wait for the pic's.)..the KTM was not the only thing that was in need repaired...

Hey john,,starting to look like between the board crashing, and maybe the heat, there will only be a few of us..thinking about not bringing all my dj equipment,,due too about three hours of set up,, hook up,,tear down ,and pack up...or have alot of poeple P>M> you... are there any members out there thinking they might try to make, but just not sure yet, so they dont want to commit and then end up being a no-show..do a post as a maybe ??? do it just to practice your typing skills.. let me help you all think about this............ hummm...A early morning bike ride (pic you own adventure) and meet at johns around noon.... WHY !!!,, free food,,,free beer,,free water,,free sodas,,and condiments only a nickle a squirt.!! , and i'll pitch in a 1000 watts plus of 'you call it' music... rock, metal, blues, country, hip hop, old school funk, jazz, 40's . 50's. disco.!!! ...and like if that aint enough.. john just put in a brand new hot tub..

Anyone besides me having withdraws.I posted this ride on another site, so thank god for copy n paste. After our Sunday newbe ride, I'm here to tell ya about in-ko-pahs own phantom trail. we met at the corner of old 8 and 94' , well most of us,my fault,i didn't realize there was more than one old 8 and 94' thanks to our county worker, john' we realized we were one man short and headed for the other locations, and found ctt3 (clyde) most of you know him by now as airborne,so off we headed for the in-ko-pah's martin and clyde have never been there, but once we were there i heard one of them say, this looks like a piece of cake... SO IN WE WENT Heres clyde hooking up a tow strap to pull some rocks out of the way to make it eaiser for the rest of us to come up First stop was the mines for our morning dirt belly crawl and mountain climbing expedition Just to get to this airshart, why, i dont know,there was plenty of air outside the cave ? Then it was time to crawl back, or shimmy up the shaft. MARTINS CHOICE CLYDES CHOICE MY CHOICE,,I HAD NO CHOICE, CLYDE HAD THE FLASHLIGHT.!!! After our dirt bath and hiking adventure, we headed for the in-ko-pah jack in the box, unfortunately it was closed for remodeling. Then we scout'ed out the trails below. heres martin wondering when were going to get to some tough sections, so he can test his riding skills . And his personal stamina. after finding them,we headed for the peak to catch a strong breeze to dry our sweaty bod's IT WAS TIME TO FIND THE BACK ROAD OUT OF HERE.......BIG MISTAKE.!!! After finding it we stood there staring down some pretty steep cayons,and so now i'm having thoughts about bajadogs post of the phamtom trail rushing thru my head,well just like in the story, down we went. After a couple of miles it was time to evaluate everyones riding ability,so i decided to turn around, just getting turned around was a 15 minute ordeal, in the deep soft sand ,hairpin turns, and straight up. Heres clyde checking his map trying to find a shortcut back to mission valley (his house) Since john was riding last ,he turned us back around and headed us back up Clyde noticed that his bike was a little top heavy,so he pulled over to dump out a few gallons,to help lower the center of gravtiy on on bike There was about five really nasty sections on the way out, like this one. Heres martin showing us the proper way to get thru this spot. Heres john daring clyde to come up this section with no feet on the pegs, since he could do it coming down. Heres clyde showing john, not only can he do it with no feet on the pegs, but pull a rippin wheelie at the same time. ...............{ action shot taken by john }................... hey scott the site crashed a week or so ago,,the post you replyed was last year 2005' but just a couple of days before,,weird huh.. but were having a barbaque at johns in campo this sunday,,and his house is about 1/4 mile from the border road in campo, we might do a short ride on it ,,or we can point you in the right direction,,check the 'open disucssion' forum if your interested....just a member...Kaw'ee..

..I think you guys are really on to something here,, except lets really make it fun ,.. Me and martin will trade bikes, (me on martins husky,,martin on my klr) .. And john and clyde trade bikes...(john on clydes klr and clyde on johns xrl) And lets go run klr cayon at noon before the big q' and then go back to johns for the barbaque..!!! ..That should make for some good bench wrecking storys..!!!! What do ya think guy's...i know tree and ride-orange would enjoy the show..
