    OK who was it?!

And we all know they aren't riding fast enough to have to worry about wind noise!

If you have the old US topo, there is no restriction to the number of units you can install the maps on. I'm not sure about the newer topo maps. Same thing with Roads & Rec if you use that. I was looking at upgrading. I really like the Oregon series with the touch-screen, larger track size(10,000 points), more tracks(200 saved tracks), custom maps (wouldn't it be cool to have your Anza Borrego map on your screen with your cursor on the trails?), etc, but I'm a little concerned (maybe unfounded) about the power connection. Number one, I'd have to re-purchase and install power cables for the bikes (as well as a new Ram cradle - no big deal really. I know, I'm just lazy). My main concern is that on all these new models, Garmin has removed the big, waterproof power/data cable and replaced them with just a mini-USB jack for power (if I understand the specs correctly). I'm not sure that's the best/most rugged/waterproof connection for dual-sport use. Anybody gone through this? Any "hands on" tests with a mini USB power connection on a "well used" dualsport bike?
  7. Classic screenshot here: Riding double, no helmets, one girl in shorts, swimsuit tops, no gloves, tennis shoes... and the best part - passenger carefully holding her can of beer so it doesn't spill!!! Fun video!
  8. I'm looking to get out one (maybe both) day(s) this weekend. I'd be interested in this loop if it goes!
  9. Thanks for getting me out of the house on my day off. Great group of riders, beautiful weather, nice trails. Here are few pictures from the day.

    It's not me

Hey now Mimi, let's not get defensive, it's not like you've ever reposted something here...... wait...... The teasing is all in good fun. At least we don't break out all the 205 pictures and pile on like the advrider guys do!

    Trail Tube

18 inch only? I guess you still have to carry a 21 inch for the front in addition? Even if he made a 21 inch, I doubt the split design would allow you to run it in your 18 inch back tire like you can with a traditional 21 inch tube. I'm with bikeslut, taking the actual wheel off takes no time at all. The wrench is built into my iron and it's nice to be able to get your hands 360 degrees on the wheel without having to worry about swingarms, brake lines, etc. Plus, if you have a centerstand or a convenient rock/stump/etc - you don't have to lay your bike down. Of course, fixing a flat with the tubliss takes mere minutes with a plug - no need to pull the wheel or tire at all.

    It's not me

Wow!! That's almost as bad as the one eddie posted on Tuesday!!! Oops
  13. It seems as though we have a few takers for a Wed, 16 Mar ride so I'll start a thread. I'd like to explore some of the other areas in the park besides what we typically ride. Maybe some of the side canyons off Fish Creek, but I'm up for whatever the area experts think would be fun (bagstr?) Why don't we plan on meeting at the Pinyon Mountain trailhead (GOOGLE MAPS LINK HERE) at 9am, riding shortly after that. Like I said, I'm open to routes, so we can either figure that out in this thread or even on the fly tomorrow.

  15. Sorry I have been away from the site. It looks like bagstr has answered the questions about the terrain. I will be leaving from the Bonsall area around 7am and have room for one in the truck. Driving out 76. My number is in the members only section, but I don't get cell coverage at the trailhead. See everyone in the morning. I will check the site before going to bed to see if anyone has any other questions or wants to make their way to bonsall and take the extra spot in my truck.
  16. I have to use up some leave so I'm off all week. Any unemployed/retired/slackers want to ride at all this week? I'm up for anything on two wheels. Easy/Hard/Scenic/Technical/Short/Long/Fast/Slow/Street/dirt/whatever!
  17. I posted a meeting time/place in another thread for tomorrow (Wednesday). A little desert exploring sounds like a good plan to me!
  18. I couldn't see it either. It was probably the same one you posted last week Mimi. Or it might have been the one I posted two weeks ago. Downhill MTB helmet cam
  19. I'm up for any riding, anywhere.. If you have any ideas on spots, go ahead and start a thread! I got a short, solo street ride in today, and may do the same again tomorrow.
  20. Randy, I'm going to try and meet up with you at Grapevine and 78. I'll park down at Tamarisk and ride over. Ready to roll by 10am (PDT)...
  21. Don't forget to show them your ID. Cycle Gear (like many of the shops around here) offer a 15% military discount.
  22. Looks like a good race! I'm pissed I had to miss out on this one (bike problems/scheduling conflicts). Here's another video:
  23. Great shots! Looks like fun! Thanks for sharing.
