  2. Yep, good ride, Scotty. I was lights out by 10. Slept until 9 this morning. Send over all the pics. By the way, I found my camera. Know where it was????? IN MY PACK! I had it the whole time, and didn't know it and didn't care to look, either. Dumdum.
  3. And I just stopped complaining about my suspension. Done. Over. No more.

I won a brand new bike!

Dude, are you HIGH? First of all the riding areas around here for red stickered bikes are on the average from Oct. 1st. to May 15th ish. That's more than 6 months if you add it up! Some areas of Calif. are open to red stickers all year round. And if you rode a 2t for ANY length of time, you my friend, would fall in love......trust me. See you Sat. Be ready. Congrats Christi! I'm SURE you'll make the right choice of bike.
  5. In a sick sorta way, I think we were all hoping for a spectacular get off with some bright cherries, purple limbs, and high pitch screaching and moaning. You ride like this guy was, you ask for pain. I do take a good pic. if I have to say so myself. :tease:

I Figured Out Why I Like Dirt Bikes So Much

I can't wait to go again, either. That was a fun day, even though I gave you some tough love at 4 corners! Good post, Scotty.
  7. I started going there in 2003. I moved to San Diego in 96, but still continued to go to the high dez and forests near the LA area where I grew up. After awhile I decided to recruit new riding buddies and try the San Diego areas. After all the drive is much closer to home. I am not surprised that alot of the trails have been closed off in Corral Canyon. That happened in Big Bear, where my mother has lived since I can remember, and where I did/do alot of riding. It has also happened in the high dez, such as a place we used to go to called Holiday, which is near Willow Springs. And also in Hungry Valley, where I spent alot of years riding as a kid. I know how you feel, it's frustrating to see alot of the "more fun" trails be closed or re routed. I am happy that we still have places to ride, and organizations I donate to who fight for our right to keep on roostin! We all need to do our part by keeping our bikes quiet, and legal, staying on the trails, donating money or time, and spreading this message. Hopefully this will stop some of the bleeding. Take care, Mike
  8. If I turned in between you guys, talk about timing! Next time we'll shout out to ya. We go there alot.
  9. Hmmm. I didn't see you. I wonder how you saw Roostingu's KTM without the "little lime" somewhere nearby. I like Kernan. Every time I ride some horrible technical trail somewhere, I have very fond thoughts of Kernan and I am thankful that it is so rideable and at the same time technical enough to keep me concentrating properly. I still can't wait for some real rain, so that we can get the dust settled down. If I remember correctly, I saw the 54 near 4 corners, possibly trail 1 or 2?? He was riding in the opposite direction of us...... You are right about the dust especially on the south side of the Kernan. That dark brown silt there sort of near the Corral Canyon access road is blinding especially if you tailgate your buddy! We both had some SERIOUS moto lip by the day's end. That was good for a laugh. As far as the condition of the Kernan, you are right.....just enough rocks and treasures to keep your eyes open.
  10. We were out there, too! Yesterday! We saw the 54 KTM and the 2 Yammies out on the trails. We parked at the cul de sac as well. We were in a Dodge Durango, trailer in tow. It was a perfect day to bust out the 2ts. I've never had my KTM 2t there. My buddy just bought an 09 300XCW, and that was it's maiden voyage. The day was perfect, in fact so perfect we did our Corral Canyon/Kernan loop twice! Ol Kernan is a rocky one on the north end, eh?
  11. How bout we just keep you at "Private"? Ocotillo is just around the corner, my friend! Get ready for some miles, baby! Possibly lunch in Borrego, the Desert Rose, or the bar in Salton City, which I don't know the name of. It's gonna be another stellar season in the desert. The Six Pipty is going to shine out there!

    Help a newb out!

If you ride MOSTLY dirt, and short jaunts down the freeway, the KTM 530 is your choice. It is a beast...narrow, light (or feels light), and more power than you'll ever need. A real rocket. If you ride more road than dirt, go with one of the other heavier, bigger bikes ie: Husky 610, KTM Adv., or that new KTM 690. That 690 is pretty friggin cool. There was a good write up in one of the rags....can't remember which one, but they said it was a great bike all around.
  13. And which Capt. are you? NO! Wait, maybe I can guess. Ok are you Capt. ? Or are you Capt. ? We are on this site, and we are watching.
