Yeti and I were at Jack n The Box this morning when a whole bunch rode by us. Zancat? Baldbeemer? Anyhow kato, we did SYTT and Black Canyon then out to Warner Springs to lost valley trail to cooper cienega. My first time on all of those. Looks like you had a great day. We sure did.

Sounds like a great ride! I was wishing for tracks as well. I am very unfamiliar with the roads all of you do. One of these days I need to go with you. If I quit spending so much time riding high desert, I would go!

Maxxis IT Dez is a great tire. I ran the heck out of one and loved it. I didn't buy a new one when it came time to replace because I had a D606 laying around that I thought I'd use up. Can't wait for that D606 to go bye bye. I'll buy the Maxxis IT Dez again and again. Great tire, IMO.

I grew up in Big Bear, great place to ride. I see you were on the south shore in the lake shot. Behind Snow Summit looks like? My ma still lives up there and when I go visit I ride once in awhile. Lately North shore, Holcomb Valley area is fun.

Cool! I stopped there to fix my twisted forks and force a liter of water into my body before heading south. I remember nodding at someone parked in a rv facing the bathhrooms, was that you guys? No, wasn't us. We were a big group walking over to the discovery center and we stopped at the restroom, of course, because one of the women had to go..... My dad and I ride Ocotillo extensively and Anza Borrego, and we noticed you were solo and thought that was a cool thing. You blasted away from the bathroom and got a little sideways which made us chuckle a bit. I thought, "cool KLR". Sounded good and looked good, too. I'm glad you had fun and got home safe.

kato, I saw you on Sunday morning when you were taking a short break at the Ocotillo Wells Ranger Station Road. My dad and I commented on you being out on the KLR solo. Very cool ride report.

Either of those places are fun to go to. McCain has less rocks for sure, a little different scenery, but overall a good place in my book.

Great trip report! Love Big Bear. I grew up in Big Bear, and recognize so much of where you were. Brings back memories for sure. You were all over that valley for sure, from north to south, east and west. Skyline Rd. is a good one and spent many summer nights up there with friends. Looks to me you were on that road for a bit. Sugarloaf Mt. was in the view from that road in one shot. Very cool.

I'm surprised at how the Kernan is washed out this year. Although I shouldn't be because of all the rain in August. My buddy stalled in the same place you did going around that sharp switchback there. I helped him over, then I made a closed eyes, feet down attempt because I had no room to get any momentum. I opened my eyes and I was at the top.....a miracle! It is fun, though. The Spur Meadow trail is pretty hammered and lots of dirt is washed away leaving the exposed rock. That's a fun one, too.

That is one heck of a lunch! Wowee. Love Lark Canyon. Great place to ride, especially when plated.

Looks great, Scott! Too bad we can't see that stellar job I did on removing the old stuck gasket material off the ol cylinder. What's with that exhaust tip? Don't know if I like that or not. Love the rest, and I can't wait to ride it. If you can't make the 6th out to the Husky, maybe we can go on the 13th?????? Also don't forget we are going to Calico or Ocotillo on the 20th! What is this Bronco Connector of which you speak? I'm going out Sunday on my own BRP. Mebbe I should check it out. No, maybe you shouldn't check it out. Not fun, not easy.... If you want to work, go on that trail. If you want to ride, stay away from that trail. Made it once, never again. My buddy, whom I used to ride with, made it about 2 feet, fell over, and turned around....done. We'll have plenty to do Sunday without dealing with a romance on Bronco Pk. Connector.
