  1. After looking around on basecamp I found the tracks and have a route planned. Going to do a 214 mile loop with chances of cutting it short as we go. No worries on the tracks, just let me know if you are interested in riding.

  2. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it to the Desert Dash this year. Im moving to Texas at the end of the month. So me and some friends are planning to get together and ride before I go. I was looking at doing the second day route of the DD my memory is a little unclear. If I take the trail going east off the S2 will that lead me strait through fish creek. After getting out of there and hit black top I remember getting of the road and taking that long whoopy road then taking a right which would eventually cross 78. From there I don't remember where it takes you but im trying to get back to the Arco in Salton Sea. Everything after that im good with. If someone knows how to send a track or if you could tell me it would be greatly appreciated it. I would also like to open up the invite to anyone who wants to go. It will be pretty good pace with decent riders. Anyone interest hit me up. We are gonna be leaving out no later than 7amish probably from RV park that it was held at. This will be on Jan 17th. I think it was close to 150 miles, i dont remember exactly.

  3. "New to him"he just picked it uo on Tuesday. We started at plaster city we to superstition, played around at Sand Dam than back to the truck to refuel. Left there went to Salton Sea filled up and came back. Bike was knocking in the wash between pole road and the rail road track that runs to plaster city. So I towed him back from there. I'm sure it's the rod bearing, he is riding a mid 90's cr250r. I don't think it was made for those long trips like that. I'm back out this weekend camping out. Still some good riding, the sand is very moist.

  4. Going out for a ride in the morning if anyone wants to join me and some friends. Gonna head out of San Diego around 7 and should be in Plaster City by 9. Both friends just got new bikes so gonna take them around and try to break them in. I don't think its gonna be raining but im anxious to see what the desert is like after all this rain. I've never been out there after a storm. If someone has any recommendations or suggestions as to why its not a good ideal to go please post. Thinking of riding out to Superstition and if they are up to it we will head to the Arco in Salton City and back.

  6. Hey thanks guys. I am keeping an eye out on cl. Its pretty easy to identify the wheels. The from rim was more faded than the rear and there was a Michelin on the back with a Dunlap on the front. Most of it was stock but some of the noticable stuff was the double take mirrors, moose tail bag, acerbis 3. dessert tank, and the position was remounted. It pretty much looks like every other ktm's that are actually ridden. Im gonna be moving to Houston in January so I was thinking maybe I would sell it before I left but had plans to take it out to the dessert and do the la-b-v on it but dont look like its going to happen the way as planned. Oh and I had the handlebars locked but that thing felt skimpy and seems like you could easily snap it or something. I will have a set of dirt wheels and tires for sale in the future if I dont get it back. Maybe I should put them up right now and use as bait.

  7. Had it parked in my spot at Lakeview Village apartments in Spring Valley. Anyone see this bike throw rocks at them. Im sure its already in Mexico with dirt wheels and tires tearing up Baja. It was a sad day in life, I have insurance but not sure if im going to buy another one anytime soon. I was looking forward to the Barstow to Vegas right but I guess not this year. If anyone see's this out anywhere please let me know.

  8. I just landed a job up in Fremont, CA. Was wondering if anyone knew of any dual sport riding in the area. I'm a Texas native and been living here in San Diego area going on 3 years. I hate the thought of having to search around for new riding spots and finding new riding partners. If anyone has any experience of the area please let me know. Thanks.

  9. I've rebuilt a few of those carbs and a couple that have been sitting up for years. The last one i did needed a new bowl gasket and the diaphragm for the accelerator pump. You should be able to get away with just cleaning everything up. I never found a rebuild kit for the ones I did normally had to buy individual parts which can be costly. If you do pull it apart do not spray the diaphragm with carb cleaner. It will eat it up quick.

  10. Hey Bikeslut, that was me and my buddies that drove up as yall was leaving. I wish we made it when you guys did because it was hot. We ran into some other guys both on KTM's and they was telling us about the new single track 12 but didnt make it. I wore the guys out after taking them down Bronco Peak Connector. Wish we could have made it there at the same time, would have been alot "cooler" lol.

  11. Thanks for all the responses. I might just keep what i have right now, I do like the brightness of the LEDs but prefer style over the function in this case. I might look into the HID version of the TT or look to see what other options they have. I really like the Baja designs squardon light but you have to add brackets and extend your light out a little. In my opinion it looks a little goofy but i know its a very powerful light. My buddy has the 2 LEDs mounted on the side like yours Goofy but and works very well but I prefer the slick look of the stock light or the TT light. I really appreciate all the help though guys, now just gotta figure out what I wanna do.

  12. If you don't mind, I would like to give my 2 cents. With out the thermostat there is nothing to restrict the coolant flow which will not allow for proper heat transfer. Long story short, me and my buddy riding up White Mountain at big bear during the big bear run. We have the same bikes, both running Evans waterless coolant. He has the hoses that eliminate the thermostat, mine is factory with thermostat. His F/I light was blinking while mine was fine. Both have electric fans, and both working. Im sure my bike was pretty hot but not hot enough to set of the fault indicator.

  13. There is a little oring that goes around the slave cylinder piston and is probably bad. I just looked on Rockymountainatv and the part is about 144 from there but you might be able to find a aftermarket one and just the piston it self and not the whole thing. Pretty simple fix but might be a little expensive. The guys over at GP Motorcycles near the airport had an aftermarket one for a old husky i worked on a while back.
