  1. Have a chance to go riding for a couple of hours. It's been 2 or 3 months since I have ridden at McCain. Will be at the picnic table in about two hours....so around 11:30. If anyone wants to join me, see you there.

    Dude'ette (female version of dude)

2 Hours advance warning is rubbish!!!! :excl::excl:

I know, I know; you're schedule is tight. Hope it was fun and not to windy 4 ya.

Keeping my eyes glued to the screen from now on

Catch ya on the flip side.

Quote from above "you are schedule is tight"

WTF!!!! Sorry, I was eating the Elmers Glue during English class I guess.

I'm blaming it on the fall I had last week..... Who am I? Lol

    Wahooo

  3. i'll be trying to go ride 1 or 2 days this week. if anyone wants to go for a ride let me know. maybe tuesay at corral or mccain. later in the week maybe in the desert if it cools down.

    What up!!!!

I'm 100% in for Tuesday. You tell me when and where... either place, I'll be there!

    Let me know.

    Sickness

  4. I'll confirm this ride for sure at around 10am. (thur morning)

Two of us will be meeting at the Lark canyon picnic grounds at noon. (McCain Valley)

I'm a newer rider so the pace will not be blistering for sure. (my introduction to sand also)

Weather should be mid to upper 70's with around 15 mph winds.

Again, check around 10 to confirm. This ride should go so take this as your advance notice

    Take care

  5. REALLY mellow ride.... ='s drive to location, remove bikes, put on boots, talk about bikes, re-load bikes and go back home.

Or not quite that mellow :dead:

Mellow = testing with the GSA in Corral Canyon, most likely I will be slow and working way to hard... even the new guy (You) will likely be bored.

SO there will be riding and there will be single track, but the speeds will be mellow

Roger that! New guy is sending ot a big 10/4 solid copy... over.

Talk to ya toward the end of the week.

    Thanks

  6. Depending on how work goes I may not be working on the 1st.

If I am not, I am going to get a few guys together for a REALLY mellow day, you would be welcome to join us.

I'll keep my eyes open for ya on the first. Thanks for the heads up.

  7. I may go to the same areas friday or sunday morning. how was it out on the trail?

Super sorry about the bogus late reply to your question. It's Monday now.....

I'm just learning my way around this site and computers in general. I did not see the second pages. My bad!!!!

My 1st time to Otay. I really only found fire road to ride on. I did 55 miles of that. Sorta dangerous out there with all the Boarder Patrol Agents driving around. I was going super slow and they would come whipping around the corners not expecting me at all. I crossed about 20 vehicles and maybe 50 agents. They were all friendly so that was good I guess.

The Ladies in the Thousand Trails general store were super sweet!!!! Of course I was nice in return; after all, I was using their parking lot.

I had fun but felt it was a little boaring. The views and photos were off the charts. Crazy beautiful.

Hope you did get to ride and sorry again for the late response. I'll work on that!

Keep me in mind for a ride somewhere along the way!

  8. Vic,

Hi there. A few of us ride during the week, but this week I'm busy with home remodeling. Keep an eye out in the Informal Ride pages. Much of what I do is on a Intermediate Challenge nature, i.e. Sand and a few drops/climbs. Post up a ride for an area you want to explore. People will come forward or at a minimum give advice.

    Dave

Thanks Dave. I'm keeping on the look out for people who are going.

Not sure where to ride or what my skill level is yet. I will have to "compare" to others as I start getting into some group rides.

    Measure twice, cut once!

    Later

  9. Will be able to get away for a while today. Staging at Corral Canyon campground. Spur Meadow trial, Espinoza, Sky Valley, trail 11 (?Bronco Flats connector), trail 4, some of trail 3, 8 and 9. Sorry for the short notice if anyone wants to join for a leisurely ride, but that's how it goes these days. Gotta grab it when I can. So between 10:30 and 11:00 if anybody wants to go with.

I know you're already out riding and having fun. Just to let you know I'm avail to ride most days during the week and can do it on pretty short notice as well.

Keep me in mind. I'm new to this and would love to have someone show me the ropes. I live in Carlsbad; close to you.

    Take care.

  10. Hello everyone. I'm going to be there at 0900. (thousand trails) I will check the forums again in the morning to see if anyone else reads this and wants to or can show up.I'm open during the weekdays to ride so please keep me in mind for future mellow rides. Remember; this kid is new to this. Again, thanks for all the advice. I'll be checking again in the morning just in case someone can show.

  11. Thanks for the tips on where to find inexpensive gear Uncle "C". I did find a sweet pair of boots on C List. I went dancing in them last night for St Pattys day and they did not hurt my feet at all! Yesterday i practiced changing tubes and tires. Actually I just pulled out the tubes that were already installed and just added some baby powder to them. That sure was a good time.... I can't wait until I have to do it on the trail, 100 degrees, bike laying on it's side! I may just keep my helmet on for the added training effect. Either way I can tell It's going to suck. At least I'll be ready for that day.

Catch you all on the flip side.

  12. Thanks to all who have welcomed me. I'm still working on getting all my required gear together but looking forward to actually riding it rather than it just sitting and looking cool! Fortunately the surf has been keeping me good company until I find a helmet and such.

I'm not really looking to get out and go wide open; more in it for the views. The Wed ride that was posted looked amazing. I want some of that!

All in due time I guess. For now I'll keep tearing it apart and putting it together. I will not be that guy on the trail standing there looking at someone else to fix what I just broke!(i hope)

Whatever the weekend brings for you all I hope it's fun. Peace

  13. I've fallen and I can't get up; also computer El letter eight.

Living in Carlsbad and looking for something to do when the surf is small....

Soooo I bought a KTM 450 EXC and now I'm hunting for deals on the gear. Boots, helmet, blah blah blah = big $$$$$

Anyhow, I'm not a rider but I will be. I didn't say a good one...

Looking forward to meeting, learning the ropes, and having fun with you all.

I'm sure I'll be in the bushes if you're looking for me! (upside down of course)

Hoping this post goes to "introductions" section, if not I'm sending an advance sorry to admin.

I'm super receptive to advice too. Thanks all.
