You aren't slow either....rode with you once and all I saw was the back of your KTM - when you were stopped You are right this club is the best deal going for all types of riders and riding in SD County - Thank you SDAR and it's peeps. I've met many a good guy (and gal) here and the fun just keeps going and going. What! I stopped??? Must have been one of my crashes that I quickly cover up and make it "look" like a stop.

    Nice schedule.... :rolleyes:/> :coolio:/> :smile_anim:/> I've a good Boss!
  3. Nope, roll-ins are not my style. I'd drop that thing. I give suspension manufactures nightmares. Never be a B*t*h when cameras are around; rule number 1. I can't believe they had a rope available... can't ride it, don't enter. A little style thrown in is always a plus. Sic
  4. Putting the feelers out. ++ skill level, not fast just constant. Several longer stretches of fireroad, rock climbs, rolling singletrack. Be self supported (you and the bike) Parking at PV Cul-de-sac requires Adventure Pass The train will be moving...either be on it, or under it. ***No one has locked in so I moved the time up slightly*** I'll be @ PV 8am
  5. It's Friday morning, loading the bike up now. Be at the PV Sac @ 8:00 to all you clandestine lurkers. *note* This is not a noob ride. Noobs will be stoned, hazed and left for dead. You will run home to mommy and it's likely your ride will be on CList by the end of the day. *end note* Slut has been teaching me how to get along with people since I've joined this site, I think I'm coming along very nicely! Good Veteran Story

My favorite is his follow through on the recoil. He never takes his scoped focus of the the the target. This is clutch in the event of a miss; makes the second shot reacquisition process much quicker. The target will be Oscar Mike at this point and is very difficult to relocate scoped. skillz dat pay the billz

    Radiator Brace Input Request

*Install Note* Pay extra attention to the length of the bolts that mount the guard to the frame of the Bike. (2 bolts per side) The holes on my KTM are bottom outs; not through. The bolts supplied by EE were about 5mm to long. They of couse would tighten to torque but would not fully secure the guard to the bike. It also would create a little thread damage near the bottom of the bolt causing issues in the event of a re-install. This may not be the case with your setup; still worth a quick look to save you searching for the "ONE" bolt to replace the boogered one you just stuffed in there. My bike is on the ground more than its upright.. PLUS PLUS PLUS for the Rad Guards!!! Sic Crashalot

Nicely done answering the above question. The step by step really helps us "hands on" types. Kudos SV

    MX Boots on a budget

Forma Terrain TX Boots I've not used these but they look pretty good for the price. You can see a review video at Atomic-moto. They claim the boots have a wide toebox and large assortment of sizes. (up to a 49) $249.95 They rate then better than the Tech 7s.... Check them out on the site. Maybe someone on here has them and could give some first hand.... I try to stay away from Fox equipment. I think they are just riding along on a name they made in the past. (just my opinion) The two type of boots you've had in the past are really heavy compo but for the price these are worth a look. Black or White only... Sorry; no Orange! Hope this helps
  11. You all are gonna have a blast out there! I rode just about everything she had to offer today and the conditions were prime. Rangers were out marking and maintaining the trails so a lot of the punchy whoops were knocked down a little and the ruts from the past rain were filled in. Kernan 1, 2, 6, are about as good as I've seen them. GO GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (I'm freaking out man) Have fun
  12. I'll bet all you Des Dashers are completely sic of hearing about riding stories right about now huh???? 200 ++ miles the first day is no joke. I have no pity for any of you.... I missed out on it so now I hope ur all back to work while me and my Bro are out-a-rid'n mid-week!!!!!!!! Hootie hooo.. I'm jealous and will for sure try to catch it next year. I love the stories, photographs and the comradery that spills from that event. Very cool. ....but, as I said; NO PITY! Here's the story and a few pics from today. Mellow moring start with a meetup at about 9 or so. Sorta windy so it was a little brisk suiting up. Great temps for the ride actual though. My friend (James) drove down from the O'side. He should be getting his SDAR Member clearance here shortly so give him a shout out when he shows on the boards. We didn't log in huge mileage today but we rode some solid tech stuff. Took some time to check out a few hilltop views and just all around had the good vibe ride. There were a few groups out but nothing hair-ball. Saw this dude sporting a Yammie '84 2 banger that was pretty darn cool. During a break we had to double up the bikes cause the ground was to soft for the k-stands. I figured they would enjoy one anothers company....little did I know; my bike dislikes KTMs and gave me attitude for the remainder of the ride. Whoda thunk?? Threading the needle on a steepie.. "Dominated" One definition yet in this situation it seems so "vague" LOL You make the call here. Steep up, steep down and a switchback so stupid I fell just attempting to walk it. ...last and least... I always try to enclose a pic where I'm in the air ooooorrrrr on my head. The air part usually results in a not-so-smooth transition to the head. This time I bring you (drum roll)... AIR. I've had my eye on this little gem for awhile. The setup makes it a little spooky. The fall away makes the launch a blind one. The launch pad is way to small and you have to start in second gear while going ape s**t on the clutch to get the distance you need to make the transition down the hillside. I had 911 on speed dial just to be "safe" HA This is taken at the Helipad on Pine Valley Fireroad. I jumped off whatever that round concrete thing is up there. I went toward the steeper side (Western maybe?) I'd say the drop was around 8 feet and the distance out was around 10 feet. Not huge by any record; just tough to set up for. Walking away makes for a good day. Hope ya'll enjoyed the Mid-week Tweek Sickness
  13. While not trying to inflict pain upon ones self I write for the enjoyment of others! Thanks. Cool ya enjoyed.
  14. Big $$$ and even if the blades are worn or abused the company sells replacements. I'd looked into purchasing a set a while back but like Brad said; you would need to do several "jobs" to recoup your cost. These are one of those tools that in the wrong hands can lead to some serious disaster.
  15. Nicely done! I know everyone is tired but bring on more reports and photographs for those of us who ride via the intro-net! I've been waiting two whole days for some sic stories!!!!
  16. I have no idea what this kid can do but his Dad could wreck fools on a Mountain Bike back in the day! John Tomacs son right????

    Phantom Trail

  18. I always have pretty good luck finding someone who's riding in the parking lot or early along the route over to Corral. Today was no dice! I rode 75 miles and ended up just kinda playing games out there. Take the hard line, only front brake, jump the breaking bumps.... whatever I could come up with. I was pretty board. The conditions were prime and I didn't have anyone to chase around. I decided to time one of my trips across the Ranger trail. I did it going the easy direction. (Start @ 4) My ODO says It's just under 3 miles across to the fireroad. I made it in 20:32. No crashes, no bike damage, no trail damage. Kept a constant push going but not all crazy dangerous. I did use the trail re-route section about in the middle of the old ranger. I had a good sweat started by the end. I'll have to try it again on a hot day in the middle of summer and see how things turn out! Lol Anyone else ever do the timing thing??? How did I do against the Compo??? Since I didn't crash (there) I'm calling thats a 5 second bonus! It's cool riding by yourself sometimes but today I was hoping to find someone to share the carcass chucking adventures! It's tough finding someone who enjoys repeated trips up to Bronco Peak. Anyways, thats my tale for today. Dirt is tacky, few mini puddles, still a bit of snow up toward the top of spur meadow trail and the Pine Valley Fireroad is completely beat up from vehicles mudding when it was wet. Its dry but I'm certain I lost fillings banging across all the hardened ruts. I'll only be a solo Hermit changer for a bit more then the boss gets home and we go running at mission trails! Wahoooooooo. Oh, last thing..... Everyone on the planet who owns a Toy Hauler is driving East on the 8 right now. The Des is gonna be a zoo-fest! That's the rid'n news for the day folks. Sickness
  19. Pretty cool/fun stuff you're doing. Thanks for sharing some of it with us. It's crazy how deep the details get when it comes to riding. As of late I've been working on that standing thing. After the firm punch in the face from Matt I was shown that I may need to change my technique slightly. Or more accurately; find a technique. I get scared going into a blind turn all way up front on the bike. Everything is more committed in that position. I like looking down and seeing my bars rather than the front axle! I'm not a racer and have no desire to go fast. I just want to ba able to ride 25 mph offroad....CONSTANTLY!!!! lol I'll keep watching, testing and learning. Jack of all; master of none. Thanks again for the writeup!
  20. You know it --- update: stripped one of my valve cover bolt last night dong the latest EM mod (advanced the exhaust cam 1 tooth) so depending on how long it's going to take to heli-coil the sucker (I don't have the m6 kit handy) I might be late/missing. Sorry just saw this... I have the 6x1 HeliCoil kit. Live in Santee if you wanna come get it and giv'er tonight before the ride. Maybe you've sorted it already....

    SDAT - Blizzard Patrol

Dude..... 82 here today. Quit that job, move back, recycle aluminium, live like a bum and ride. I may have missed my calling as a Counselor! Ya got nerves of steel riding that tin can down the ice rink!!!! Well done!!!
  22. That sucks dude but glad it was not worse! I had that feeling in my gut all day yesterday. I was just extra worried about the head on thing. One can only be so careful, you could be sitting still on the trail and if the other guy has his eyes on the prize you're a gonner no matter what. The price we pay. Rest it off.
  23. Dai... When I got to the other side I needed to take a nap! Turning around would have killed me before the first turn!!! Bill....My phone cost me $9.99... no loading, no pictures. On/off, call/text. End of story. I'm one low tech mofo. Heck I was using an abacus to keep my time while going across. Keep your eye to the sky; next time I'll mail ya using smoke signals!
