I had a great time. Other than it being cold. And bending the crap out of my brake pedal... that happens every ride... Trophy is an animal! He rode from Anza to Ramona with about 5 psi in his rear tire. I am definitely going to get a pair of those heated grips that Trophy has. He let me check them out from The Hideout to Warner Springs. Unbelievable .... those AND the pumper carb. Great job Modding that DR..... anyways, I don't want to hijack... I can't believe how many riders showed up this morning. 14? Wow! Good times!

I'm just wondering if anyone has ridden the Carizzo Creek Truck Trail off of the 79 lately. I heard you can go from there all the way to Occotillo Wells. Is that true?

Im still waiting to hear from GoofyFooter. But if he comes, him, TrophyHunter, and I should be riding up there. All are welcome, the more the merrier.

Its about 2.5 miles southwest of the intersection of 76 & 79 on the north side of the road.

I wish I could have made it to this one. Another DR to add to the mix. However, I did get my tires situated after much angst and a couple near disasters .... anyways,... it looked perfect up there, as usual.

This morning I met up with Bikeslut in Alpine and we headed out to the desert. On the way there he told me about what was in store for us that day. .. After some grim stories about phantom trails and helicopter rides, we arrived at Pinyon Mountain Trailhead... Do I need to mention it was 26 degrees?? Correct me if I'm wrong. The attendees included, Bikeslut, PastaPilot, Sneeker, Goofy Footer, V-dog, Joliet... And myself. Since I didn't have any clue where we were for most of the day, I will let the rest of the guys tell the story. All I know is that I am not very good (.. SUCK) at riding sand and heart attack hill really isn't that bad. I had a helmet camera on during the ride so I will see if I can edit some footage and get some of that posted. Unfortunately, due to my lack of experience with the camera, I didn't get our ascension up diablo drop off OR our decent down heart attack hill.. BOOOO... We stopped here to check out some mud caves.

I've never been there either. If someone could PM me or mail me a gpx file of some tracks, that would be awesome. Or even better, a friday ride, that would be sweet too.

My daughter has a '98 KTM SX Pro Jr. and today she ran it into the back of my truck ,... putting a good split in the gas tank. I have attached pictures. Is there a way to mend it?? JB weld? Quiksteel? Torch? Any suggestions are welcome. She doesn't race it, and a "new" tank is $200...

I FINALLY got my videos uploaded to youtube. I was having some problems because it would have "unknown errors" and I'd have to restart the upload.. Dang thing! I will do some editing after work tonight and get them posted.

No, I agree Bob. Its already been ordered... now they are saying that its back ordered... Dammit! I guess she'll have to wait. She was already asking me about riding today... Kids are great.

If you can find me a deal hobiee, I would be grateful. I found an OEM tank on bike bandit for $205. I don't know about the law, if plastic tanks are legal or not. The bike in question is definitely not street legal.

After some thought .... I agree , $200 is a small price to pay for the safety of my child. It seems my mind has been made up for me. Thanks guys.

Papasmurf: I'm glad you made it out. Dan: Thanks for leading the way most of the day. Good times. This was our stop at 250 monument.

We met up in battle dress at Thousand Trails promptly at 9:30AM. There were allot more of us then I expected, 10, which was good. A few of us had ridden Otay before and some that hadn't. All in all, it was a good ride. I have some video from my helmet cam and 2 others had helmet cams as well, Dan & ... forgive me but I forgot your name..... I will get some videos edited and posted. I had my camera off after we stopped at the water crossing. DooH!! We went up from Thousand Trails, took a right at Doghouse Junction toward the 905 and then hung a left at the border road. After the border road turn off I led everyone up to a scenic spot (wrong turn) which ended up being very nice. We stopped and talked for a few mins and then headed back to the border road and continued to the 250 monument and water crossing, then turned around and took Marron Valley road to the 94....Great views up there, it was so clear you could see the islands off the coast, simply amazing.
