Was it two or three years ago that my sweep team thought we were on Baywatch? We pulled out no less than five mud-suctioned riders... and then there was the guy who had tries to cross a 4 foot deep water crossing... TNTMO was with me, that was fun!

I can ask P1, my plan would be to launch really late and "sweep the sweep" like Carguy usually does. As such I am game to have him chill with me for a while.

If you go I go, Jeremy (PropBoy) and Nate (Shift) are looking to get in also. Actually I am probably going either way. -
Use Google Earth. Maps will not really allow you to anything of value to move to your GPS without using Earth. It is a free download. Create your info in Google Earth then save it as a KML in you location of choice, lastly move it to your GPS using Basecamp (Free with GPS) or by using your GPS as an external device. Feel free to have me call you, just PM me your number and when is a good time.

We should all relish in the glory of knowing that there is one less really fast old guy to pass us while Chris is recovering... I know I will Heal up quick bud, let us know if you need anything. .

Dude, your start procedure is about 25 different kinds of wrong. It should fire with only 1 or 2 kicks. Do this: 1) Locate top dead center 2) Pull and release Decomp 3) Roll the kicker VERY GENTLY to the first notch and stop 4) Hold the clutch and drop your right foot quickly It will roar to life every time.... unless you get a little overzealous going past DTC and you go to far. This procedure is in the owners manual and on just about every XR650R forum. I have now done this on 4 separate bikes all with different setups and never once did I need more than 3 kicks.

Yes wanted to do this for a while. I also have a line on a logistics specialist who is very bike oriented... actual he does "odd" and high value loads only. -

Myself and P1 like the last couple of years are willing to do anything needed. Can lead a sweep team if needed.... or we can take the truck out to good photo spots for P1 to shoot. -
For some reason I cannot open the link right now but another option is depicted below. Not so sure if it is still open but Privateers Garage is another location. More often than not it is used by guys who are racing SBK or SSprt and just don;t have the tools or garage space. Best part is they also has a few full time mechanics who would answer questions and lend a hand when needed.

Why we LOVE BAJA
SteelRain replied to a topic in Baja Info, Upcoming Rides, Ride Reports, Photos, etc.
I would love to do something like that... but alas I would probably end up as a pizza stain. That last drop has some serious pucker factor! . -
Happy Birthday Dude! Have fun!

SDAR RIDERS NEED EXTRACTION
SteelRain replied to paulmbowers's topic in Baja Info, Upcoming Rides, Ride Reports, Photos, etc.
Sorry I missed a chance for a meal at Mi Pueblito. Wish I had seen this sooner. Anyone can PM or call me if they (or a friend) need a hand in Baja. I have the equipment and the yearning to go. -
A buddy sent this to me asking if this was actually possible. Looks like it hurt http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PAFtLtOX7k&sns=em

It is a great tool. Since the guys I ride with usually carpool we can throw two in the bed and two on the rack and still have LOTS of room for gear coolers, and comfort. I have a double hauler and have mounts on the front and rear of the truck I can haul 7 bikes easy.

I will be there on two wheels. Leaving from the Poway area.

Snow Day at McCain Valley 12-31-12

Send me a message next time. I went out on the WR450SuMo with a group of Sportbikes, would have rather joined you! -
Just a dumb question. You said "Fancy" a few years back I got a "fancy" battery and found out it required a special type of charger and the shop charger I have (hot and float) would charge it to fast which caused the chip in the battery to drain it. If it is a typical bike battery maybe it is just a fluke? .

+1 Also get off the seat and let the bike work under you, it will "float" across the sand better. Momentum and letting the bike work is the only way to ride the BGSAdv, I am certain it is the same on the 'Strom
