I have a Gary-Fisher MTB in the garage, bright orange & black (could be a sign), and have been known to down-hill on occasion. In La Verne where I used to MTB we shared the trail with MTB/horse/hikers..."can't we all just get along??"

Looks like less and less land for my son to enjoy...on two wheels. Sure he can hike, but it should not be his only choice.

Pretty open at this point. KTM 400 or 450 would be top choice, but a nice DRZ400 or WR400 would work fine too. My two main requiremnets are something solid and plated (or easily plated at DMV).
