SteelRain 0 Posted May 21, 2010 The good - I found a screaming deal on a better set of luggage that I currently have for my DRZ. Bought it and it came with nice racks. The bad - In 2007, I got T-boned on the DRZ (driver missed a stop sign) I went to mount the racks last night and realized that the subframe is a little tweaked, but only right at the mounting point. I can get a straight subframe for less than $200. Would it be worth it to try and straighten it out? Or shold I just buy parts and fix it right?
bikeslut 1 Posted May 21, 2010 My subframe has been bent since my first crash with SDAR (which was also my first ride... which was also my first helicopter ride) I took everything off, put a big 2x4 on it, and tweaked it almost straight... but I'm a hack You're a mature, responsible person...I think
BC330 0 Posted May 21, 2010 Bend it back if you can. No need to replace if you don't have to. But be carefull not to over stress the alum. It can be very brittle, and can snap without notice. Always worth a try though.
