Is the whole ride street, or are you planning on some fire roads?

I kind of want to find some fire roads with snow, since I think it will be the last weekend we get to see any snow around that area.

Here is the link to the google maps but it plots it in straight lines instead of how i originally intended. Besides I-8, the rest of the ride consists of fireroads, dirt-rock-sand trails. Banner rd is the only street section i can think of. So 70-80% dirt if you exclude I-8.

If you have other ideas, i am open. I'm just beginning to explore all these trails so i'm not set on a certain trail if you think there are more interesting places to ride.

Link still shows straight lines so pasting the actual rd/trail names:

1. I-8 east

2. Viejas Grade Rd (fire trail)

3. Boulder Creek Rd (fire trail)

4. Eagle Peak Rd (Street)

5. Pine Hills Rd (Street)

6. 78 East to Banner (Street)

7. Rodriguez Spur Truck Trail - Heading East (Dirt/sand/rocks)

8. S2 North to Butterfield (Something i saw on the way, but not sure it's a trail. Looks like a loop so worth checking it out.)

9. Back down S2 South (Street)

10. Mason Valley Truck Trail - Heading West (Dirt/sand/rocks)

11. 79 South to Engineers Rd (?)

12. And then back down Boulder Creek Rd to Viejas (fire trail)

This looks like a fun ride. What is the range on fuel? I am only good for about 70-80 miles without fuel. Is there gas when you leave highway 8? Or is it worth meeting in Julian or is that way out of the way?

There is a gas station in Julian.

Your range should be fine as long as you gas up in one of the exits before viejas casino (i don't think there is a gas station in viejas casino).

If anyone wants to join, just meet me at the school parking lot right after the fire station. I plan on leaving at 8:30am from the school parking lot.

I "think" there is gas in Descanso, at the top of Viejas Grade (where did Jed run off to?) 24680 Viejas Blvd, Descanso

There is definitely gas at the Tavern Exit on the North side of the freeway

No gas at Viejas

I got in touble with the wife  , I'll confirm if I can go later today.

If I go i'll meet up with you guys at Viejas Grade Rd .

SD KTM 530 - (welcome to the club) I'm almost sure you have the same bike I do, I have taken my bike with stock tank over 100 miles I wouldn't worry about gas range on this ride.

Just got in and checked your ride-looks interesting. If I can get the bike ready in the morning, I'll meet you guys at the school by 8:30. Hoping to make it but have to play it by ear, so don't wait if I'm not there.
