TrophyHunter 15 Posted March 4, 2009 Okay, here's another plug for Tree's business. I'm still beating up the rack he powdercoated. The WR has been through X-plane, several in between and the Dash with a tail bag full of stuff hanging on for dear life. The coating has held up well, with a few rubs from my abuse (incorrectly tied down items) but NO scratches. I'm working with the rack builder to fab some detachable pannier mounts for the rack, so more coating to come. Highly recommend!

Tree 0 Posted March 5, 2009 Dirt bike rims are easy and pretty cheap. Where you run into the cost is relacing unless you do it yourself. I think they would be less prone to scratching than anodizing but they might chip if hit by a sharp rock but you could fill that with some enamel paint or nail polish. I've been looking for some hoops (rims) so I can do my own but haven't found that smoking deal yet. The ones i have on my bike now have too many flat spots so i'd want some newer (slightly used) ones.

I'm not tied to this company in any way, but ECP in El Cajon has done a few things for me over the years. Always turned out great and good customer service. Might want to try them. Talk to Scott. I think he rides too?
