SDlineman 0 Posted December 17, 2008 I took my bike out Sunday after finally cutting the throttle stop screw, and I was amazed at the power it now has. I new it was only getting about 3/4 throttle before, but I had no idea that last 1/4 would make such a difference. If any other WR riders haven't done this yet, make sure you are ready, because you won't want to go back.
Strega 0 Posted December 17, 2008 Throttle Screw Air Box Snorkle Baffle in the Exhaust Grey Wire Do those on the WR and you're set.
SDlineman 0 Posted December 17, 2008 I did the grey wire earlier, I think that's enough for me right now. I already think I might kill myself with the power it makes now, but at least I'll have a big smile on my face when I go.
bikeslut 1 Posted December 17, 2008 jeff; cmon; you know you want to do it... Roger; does the snorkle removal require rejetting? I assume yes.
ozzy 0 Posted December 17, 2008 I would think anything jetted for ca would require rejetting
robertaccio 406 Posted December 17, 2008 FYI from our friends at Dirt Rider (2007 WR450 info) Jetting Stock Closed-Course Main jet 162 175 Pilot jet 45 50 Needle NFNT DTR* Leak jet 60 45 Fuel screw 1.75 3.0 * in 4th position there is a GYTR kit with all the goodies and instructions to uncork the standard package to get to the closed-course competition setting (GYT-5TJ93-69-01, $49.95). Strega 0 Posted December 17, 2008 jeff; cmon; you know you want to do it... Roger; does the snorkle removal require rejetting? I assume yes. I did those 4 things, and didn't change the getting at all and it rocks. I put a Dyno Jet kit on and it SUCKED. So it's back to stock and that bike has a ton of power. Crawdaddy rode it for a bit in Bishop, and he agreed that the 07 WR450F has balls. It definitely feels beefier than the older year KTM 520/525 bikes. Stock suspension might not be as good, but that bike will stand on it's tail very easily.
Crawdaddy 96 Posted December 17, 2008 It definitely feels beefier than the older year KTM 520/525 bikes. Definitely has some pep to it.....but pretty sure the above statement was NOT part of my "how's it ride" evaluation
paulmbowers 236 Posted December 18, 2008 It definitely feels beefier than the older year KTM 520/525 bikes. Pfft. Let's not get carried away.

Zenosan 2 Posted December 18, 2008 , but that bike will stand on it's tail very easily. Hi Roger I have 30 year old Huskys that will do that in 6Th gear, the trick is how do you keep the front end down when you open the throttle. The vintage husky tank was designed to grab it with your thighs while your weight was well forward over the handlebars. Don
TrophyHunter 15 Posted December 19, 2008 My WR has been as uncorked as much as I can afford/feel confident in handling. C & D finished it off with some GYTR stuff and I'm happy with it. Stop, jetting, grey wire, smog pump, snorkle, larger peashooter.
