cmbthumper 172 Posted August 8 Picked up this true CA plated WR to replace my 06' Yamaha WR450 that had the CA plate pulled. Plan for this 07' like the 06' is to convert it to a SUMO only bike. I had to take it out in the dirt at least once which i did over the weekend. Would be a great dirt bike/dual sport with suspension mods to my big arse. Pulls the front wheel up to 4th, no lean surges etc. Idle was very high IMO and Hard to start when hot so i will pull the carb and do a full rebuild with mid body gasket, check the jetting and do a Valve check as owner "Forgot" when he did these last. 3
tntmo 1007 Posted August 8 That will make a nice super moto. Interesting rack set up, someone had some BDR plans for that bike? Wish Yamaha had made a factory dual sport with these.

Wish Yamaha had made a factory dual sport with these. I think it will suit my needs for a SUMO. The racks were custom made from a WR250R to fit the WR450 to do the AZ and CA BDR with his son which they did. Solid setup but I won't use the Panniers and will be taking those off but will use the top Nomadic one until i can find a Pro Moto Billet which are my favorite for a day out an back rack. I also wish Yammi made a DS WR450R. A 450-500cc would be awesome. I rode a 250R and liked the motor but not the bike weight. I can see why they were/are popular though.
