A bunch of SDAR guys hanging out in Esco

Recommended Posts

I’m in SD after a long Canadá/Alaska ride.  TNTMo stopped by and removed a blown front shock from my big, fat GSA.

While we were relaxing at DSM8’s place, new SDAR member Alex (A2) stopped by.

Good times, great peeps.

It wasn’t too tough to get that shock out of there, glad I didn’t read that silly manual or it would have taken three times as long.

Nice hanging out with y’all and nice to meet Alex.  Happy trails, my friends…until we meet again!

Dude! How long are you in town? Long enough to grab a few beers?

I’m in town for a week or so.  Will definitely make time for brews.

I heard you’re moving back! When is the next hangout??

I wish.  I’ll set up a quick meet and see who wants to toss back a cold one and talk rides.

Bummer about the shock. Those things are ridiculously expensive.
and a PIA to get to.
Are you rolling again? Or waiting for parts?

Can you ride home via Novia Scotia?  You might catch up with us. We hat to cut our Alaska trip short for some health issues.

I’m pretty much heading east back to Tampa from San Diego when the shock comes back and it’s installed.

There’s only one place in the country that rebuilds BMW shocks because they’re not re-buildable —EPM out of New Jersey.

It cost $260 to rebuild and it’s about $100 each way to express it over there and back.

And an aftermarket shock probably would’ve cost me about $1200, and believe me I thought about doing that.

Tom is being modest.  BMW says it’s a 3.5 hour job; he did it in under half that time.

Anyone need BMW parts?
Like pick a part, help yourself, cash on the table as you leave.
Many plastics already removed, good deals.

PM me for details

😉😂

The pink parts will have to stay with the bike, you will know when you see them.

Actually there is a guy in LA area that does it too.
I’ve been down the aftermarket shock trail. It’ll leave quite a mark in your checking account.
