Grips on 2. (at lunch time)!

We are 27 miles from home in San Diego under a winter storm warning. How bad could it be really?!

Snowing sideways at times, 4” on top of mud and some rock makes for an interesting dance.
Add in steep sections and off camber …. We had a blast. Momentum is your friend and for godsakes look way ahead like you’re sand riding. Sometimes going up the hill crossed up a little like a sidewinder rattlesnake moving across the trail. Featherlight on the throttle and clutch!

I love my Ruby Moto R7’s. ‘Nuff said.

This is fun but let’s get lunch.

Majors was closed. This place also was closed due to the winter storm. Wussies!

So we headed down to lower elevation for tacos in Alpine. Lens was hopelessly fogged so low speed on the freeway, flashers on and electrics on high.

All around a really fun day.

^^^ I agree! fun stuff.  Would have been a lot "easier" if the mud was frozen, but together the snow and mud make any off camber pretty fun.  Rain mode worked pretty well on the flats/mostly flats, but failed when the pitch steepened a bit.  Had to just be super soft on throttle and ride on the razor edge of balance, weight back a bit for pseudo traction and float/ crabwalk some up the off camber stuff.  I wasn't always successful, but picking up the bike that's laying on a hill is pretty easy.

Fun stuff!

Um...not to be a douche, but the reason that area is marked "no parking" and lined in blue adjacent to the handicapped spot? Often handicapped vans need that space for their unfolding ramps that allow their chair to roll out the side of the vehicle.

Just fyi.

My dad was a disabled vet, and used an electric wheelchair in his final years.

I thought I felt a shift in the space/time continuum.

Mr. Bowers, I know douchebags and you sir are no douche.  Thank you for the chastisement, I'll be a better citizen going forward.  Empty lot when we arrived. We could see the bikes clearly from the corner table, selfishly didn't think that there was a chance of crowding someone handicapped.  My bad and again thank you.

Facing the old Alpine Brewing Restaurant, the left end of the parking lot /mall. Kind of in the northwest corner.

Oh OK I know which place your talking about..

It's northeast of the pharmacy but southwest of the healthfood place, if your facing the other restaurant it's kinda to the right a little bit. 😉

How do you keep your bike so clean after a mud romp like that? Do you have a pressure washer at home or what technique do you use to detail the bike?

I never "detail" it.  This ain't no Harley b*tch! 😂

Yes I have a pressure washer and foam cannon.  I tend to use it about once a month or less.  And that's just to have a good look at all nuts bolts and fixtures to make sure nothing is falling off.  It's so rare that I don't ride dirt that cleaning it can get too consuming.  Maybe after I retire . . . .

White doesn't show the dirt as much as other colors.  Like my green GSA did.

Your sense of humor is spot on. Lmfao.

Seriously though.. no brand bashing on here 😢

I told the management that I wod encourage everyone to clean up the bike bashing , also that I'd curtail anyone saying anything that might be considered offensive, like jokes or teasing anybody on this forum .

Harley Davisdon is a respectable and worthwhile motor manufacturer.

"It's so rare that I don't ride dirt"  hahaha 😆

Good stuff man. You almost made me fall back in my chair.

What do you use the foam cannon on? 🤔

He usually hits me with it when I visit, before he will let me into his house.  I’ve become accustomed to it…

This. ^^^

It's pretty effective.  After I delouse TNTMO with it he usually returns the favor so we can both go in the house without greasing up the joint.
