Minimal planning and a couple day delay doesn’t Have to ruin a good ride, right?

20 miles south of flagstaff and somehow I have service to post.

The terrain and vegetation has definitely been a positive surprise. So far this is a fun route. Camping at 7100 feet, it’s going to be 30 degrees tonight

No more saguaros here..

Talked to Goofy this morning. Cold night but bike thawed out and he's on his way!

Just got a Spot message, flat tire near Cinders OHV by Flagstaff.  Attempting repair.

I traded texts with him this morning. Sent him some more tracks. Cinders is close to residential so he should be fine. I suspect his has coverage in that area. But keep us posted if he sends you another Spot message, Tom.

He messed up the bead trying to change the tube.  Got a ride into town and getting a new tire.

Back on the road making up lost ground. It isn’t exactly warm in the high 30s at the moment but these elephant ears rock!

Sunrise from a bivy near Navajo Nation. Haven’t booked a hotel yet.

Next stop, Vermilion Cliffs or the Utah Border.

Only a 3 hour ride to Utah from where you are. Enjoy.

1200 miles later and I’ve completed the AZBDR!

It’s a nice route and different than the CABDR in April. When time permits I’ll write up a proper RR on this thread.

Until then, it’s some 600 miles or so home..
