Tech Day October 23rd

Recommended Posts

I missed out on the hot dogs but my Zelda loves donuts with papa, so I had no other choice!

Thanks for hosting this Dave, it was a great learning experience, comedy show and grill-out all rolled into one. And I'm not afraid to rip into completely corroded away electronics now. 😜  It was great putting some faces and names to folks on here. Although I have to admit, I have a hard time remembering everyone so don't take it personally when I screw it up. Hopefully I'll get out on some noob rides with you all soon and the next tech day I'll bring a bunch more problems to fix. Ha.

Everyone I've met on this board is so nice and helpful. You are all a great group of folks. Thanks.

It was nice to get back together with the SDAR members that I have known from the past, and meet new ones today.  Great shindig, for sure!😎

So we had a good turnout all 28 dogs were consumed and someone brought ever moat nuts of dough so we had two packages left over

dont worry the dogs got one of them off the table when I wasn’t looking

poof

gone

It was a pretty decent turnout although we only ended up really working on one bike and doing electrical on another

I do have a set of tubes heavy duty for an 1821 wheel combination they were gifted to me so if anybody wants them they could take them because I will never use heavy duty tubes so just speak up

Looks like JAJA is tired.

Thanks Dave, the brake pedal feels like it should again. It’s very generous of you to open up your place, and give your time and expertise to us, much appreciated 🙏🏻

Nice putting some faces to screen names yesterday, thanks for having this at your place Dave! I also finally completed my BMW Rallye Suit thanks to the pants Udo was selling... Though I have no BMW - these pants are divinely comfortable.

Sounds like a good time, wish we could've been there.

But we're having some great times in Mexico for 3 weeks now.

Dave, thanks for opening your home, your workshop, and sharing your expert advise.  I was great having some chats with some of the fellas I have ridden with, and starting conversations about future rides.  If you haven't already recycled those used knobbie tires (and still have some heavy duty tubes I could put in them), I will pick them up and try them.  Thanks.  Mac

They are yours for the taking just PM me when you want to come by and pick them up

Dave, thanks again for hosting.  It was good to meet with some of the SDAR folks again.  We need to get out and ride more!

Yeah, we had talked a bit about his work and how we could have possibly overlapped at some point in the past. There's something about a photographer's "eye" that's amazes me.

Was I speaking with you that day about suspension? I see it in your signature and I met a Kelly that I think I was discussing suspension with, but he had hair. Lol.

If it was, you were supposed to bring the big wrench and show me how to shear some bolts off.

While I talked a bit with several folks about suspension, I have a very shiney head usually covered with a cap to hide my shame.

I brought the big wrench but DSM8 wouldn't let me on the property with it.  He said his stuff "might get hurt" with a weapon like that on the grounds.

Ok so now lets tell the real truth of that story.

  1. Cap is too small it should reach down to your shoulders to really cover your shame - Implied
  2. Your Big Wrench was a pair of rusty pliers you found on the side of a road somewhere in baja, you would not recognize a wrench if I threw it at you
  3. And if you took any of the above seriously then you dont know me at all
